Skill Set Suggestions
Added 2025-08-14 23:00:08 +0000 UTCI want to add some more skill packages in the Shop option for Star Forge. Taking suggestions.

Eezo/mass effect fields don't seem to be prevalent, but that doesn't mean that Star wars and/or Halo tech cannot find ways to emulate aspects of it or adapt some of the principles behind the tech. Similarly the Halo tech getting mixed in could help too. Mass Effect weaponry, the Eezo to manipulate the mass of the rounds might not be applicable, but the whole "solid block of metal shaved off to make rounds" part could still probably be used, and basic rail-gun tech aspects from Mass Effect (and I think Halo too) could still be used for firing. It just might have to be bigger shavings and heavier weapons. That said, projectile weapons firing Beskar, Phrik, Cortosis alloy, or other lightsaber/energy resistant ammunition? Absolute nightmare against 'Saber wielders both for being projectiles which already negate a lightsaber's deflection ability to varying degrees, but making the projectiles out of lightsaber resistant materials would mean all that kinetic energy actually getting transfered through the blade. Shoot the saber out of their hand, knock the blade towards them/out of position to create openings for the following shots, etc. Not to mention, he might be able to create a gun only useable by a force-sensitive as the Force could potentially mimic some aspects of Mass Effect/Eezo tech. It would certainly be a unique weapon more in keeping with the Mandalorian traditions while still being a force weapon, perhaps a Gauss rifle/cannon/etc (inspired by the one from Shadowrun 5th edition TTRPG, where-in I think I remember it being described as firing a physical projectile coated/wrapped in a plasma envelope- dispensing both kinetic and energy damage). It could even still require a kyber crystal as part of its construction. Or, take aspects of Mass Effect drive cores, Relays, and the Halo Slipspace drives to create entirely new ways to propel ships/bypass hyperspace lanes. If he can get knowledge/skills related to Collector/Promethian/Reaper tech/weapons then the particle beam weapons seem like they'd make a plausible basis for having a new weapon type for his ships that could either overwhelm/bypass current Star Wars ship shields for a while (others would eventually learn how to make protection against them, but they could still be a surprise/trump card when they're first used). Perhaps HALO and/or Mass Effect Cloaking/stealth generators could give him a way around the dwindling resources for stealth/cloaking in the standard Star Wars verse. At least in terms of personal options if not ship-based. In general skills for tech/hacking/slicing (Star Wars terminology/skill). But especially Halo AI assistance, Mass Effect tech armor (deployable hardlight over-armor would come in handy if ever needing to appear un-armored, or to quickly gain protection if ambushed when out of armor), shields, overloads, grenades, etc. Would be especially helpful versus droid forces. Oh, I wonder if an Omni-tool with a Kyber Crystal could make the hardlight Omni-blade act as a lightsaber? (Heck, the way the Omni-blade forms over the full forearm/fist it is actually more of a bladed buckler/mini-shield that with force-empowered reflexes could deflect blaster shots pretty easily, and maybe (being larger) could be argued to be able to deflect/block heavier blaster shots or even smaller ship-based fire. Mix in a smidgen of Halo, in the form of the twin bladed energy sword, over the single bladed design of the omni blade, and a dash of tech armor/ability to shape hardlight in order to fully cover the hand/fingers and it could be used to catch/pin a lightsaber blade. Then, with all these new/mixed technologies there would also be a need for skills specifically designed around utilizing them. Omni-blades weren't around long enough to have dedicated styles of using them in combat, but they certainly are not suited for standard lightsaber forms for example. Teaching/mentoring skills, especially if he is going to be "creating" entirely new weapons/methods of combat (getting skills to create and/or use said new weapons) that he will then need to teach to his crew/faction/species. Not necessarily a skill per se, but the ability to create/unlock the forms of the various Geth Platforms to use as his own version of droids. They'd certainly be a vast improvement over the CIS droid models. Even moreso if he can incorporate aspects of the various SPARTAN Mjolnir armor (it is a power/enhancement armor) into the designs. Heck, actually I wouldn't be surprised if some aspects of the Geth Platforms might not actually be superior/able to actually be used to improve the Mjolnir armors themselves.

2025-08-15 05:21:19 +0000 UTCGenetics/cloning/biology skills to be able to possibly improve himself/his crew, to increase his species, maybe to cure/fix the quarian immune system issues, or if you want to go full broken: give/take away midichlorian/force abilities? Skills for his crew possibly? Whether they are directly giving a new skill, or its simply in the form of a "little push" to help them master something or have a moment of inspiration to design something. Guerrilla/Insurgency tactics, or whatever is needed to start/successfully run a rebellion/uprising. Initial/amateur/skilled/professional/master blacksmith/metallurgical skills and/or Mandalorian Forge mastery/ability to work with Beskar. Or to create various Mandalorian armor and weapons systems. (And/or to work with Phrik, songsteel, cortosis, etc etc other star wars metals/alloys) How to synthesize kyber crystals- via kiln, how to grow them, how to purify "bled" crystals, how to seek out natural deposits, how to find alternatives and rare crystals/substances of other various types that can be used instead. Gun smithing/crafting. Different skill levels/progression with time/expense, but also different skills for projectile weapons, blasters, sonics, dart/chemical delivery, ionic, laser/particle, rail guns, etc. Heck you could combine the Star Wars Droids/the droid Control ships with the Geth from mass effect, and give skill in droid programming/tech skills to make that a reality such that his droids have the ability to link together to become better/smarter/etc, or if not going that way, then perhaps how to design/create some of the Geth platform designs (stalkers, armatures, primes, etc) and/or their weapons. Whatever you choose though, make sure it is something you either actually know about, are willing to really look into in order to get it right, or something that is based in an established bit of canon/lore in the setting/s so you can simply reference it and leave the audience to do their own research if its unfamiliar. Basically, don't give him super spy skills, or elite special forces tactics, or the like where you can get called out if your writing for him then doesn't reflect him having and using actual examples of said skills/mindsets going forward. Unless said skill is posed as a reference, such as gaining asari commando/huntress training/skill where-in you don't have to go into as much detail beyond referencing the revealed types of abilities shown in the ME games/media and since it comes from such a source, said tactics/training/skills have a greater degree of being unrealistic to reality, because they come from fiction, than if you give something like Navy SEAL training where you're going to then get people looking for you to portray said training/abilities incorrectly and call you out on it.
