☘️Amalthea design process☘️

Why/Who is Amalthea: So Amalthea is an interesting case here, cause I technically made her far before thinking up the story for Hayato. Originally she was just made to be the mother of my first jojo oc “Cadence Kawajiri“ If you follow my Instagram I post sketches of him time to time on my story, and made a couple posts on my main and side about him. Because of this, I actually don’t have many of her og design process sketches on hand. So I found what I could for her, compared to the others she has a smaller amount of drawings. Mostly because I’ve drawn her quite a bit before hand, and actually early on I knew Amalthea and Hayato met in college. I had doodles of it, so I’m some way Amalthea is the reason ”Hayato at college” story exists. I’ve actually been setting up both Cadence and Amalthea for awhile now, the second picture being from my comic “Shinobu  where she waits for the return of her husband“ you can see Amalthea in the background with Hayato. (and Cadence is the kid of course)

Personality: Amalthea is an Irish musician, she plays the flute mostly but has some knowledge in most instruments. She’s very cheerful, kind and naturally a comforting person to be around. Don’t get her wrong though, she can be very teasing, assertive and even down right stubborn at times. She only really shows her more bold side when she really needs to though. Usually being very patient with people, I’d say she’d take a more “kill them with kindness” approach to most situations. She loves fairytale books, you can find her reading them constantly, along with that she has an interesting in collecting odd knickknacks, some others would consider ugly or even creepy but she finds some value in them. Overall she has a very curious personality towards the world as a whole, so she’s very knowledgeable about all sorts of topics. Could say she has a very old soul

Design: Amalthea design is pretty fun, I wont go into great detail here but I’ll give you a run down. She has a birthmark on her forehead, her bangs making almost a heart around it. Her two strains of her is based lightly off music notes. While her clothes were made to match her personality, I wanted to give her this very comfy feeling, Very girl next door vibes. That mixed with nature with greens, browns and oranges.

Her role: Amalthea is actually the first to meet Hayato, being the first to help him around the campus. Seeing he’s new to Europe she offers to be his guide. Similarly to Hayato as well, she doesn’t have a stand and honestly has no idea about them. Because of this, Hayato decides it’s best to keep stands a secret from her, due to his own history with stands and worrying about them. It just seems like a better option for her to not know, similar to what he decided with his mother Shinobu. Even if stands are generally a secret to Amalthea she’s still part of the  group, helping to figure out the deaths on campus in her own ways. I would compare Amalthea to someone like Suzie Q, but instead of being sidelined for her lack of powers, she‘s more involved  and helpful through her other natural skills.

I‘ll stop there for now, I feel like I write essays under each post oof sorry about that. I’ll talk more about Amalthea another time, when I get a hold of her early design process doodles
