Lacey, Washington — On April 3, 2024, Lacey Police officers responded to a home in the 1200 block of Boone ST SE where a male had been shot in the neck/shoulder and stated that he was unable to move. Witnesses on scene described an altercation between several subjects, which ended in the suspect shooting the victim and fleeing the scene with a female in a red Jeep that ended up being a rental car. The victim was taken to Harborview. LPD officers and detectives searched for the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Frank Jonathan Taylor, ultimately locating him on April 7, driving near Draham St NE, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Taylor did not stop, and continued driving at high speeds through Lacey and on to southbound I5 with officers in pursuit.
The suspect vehicle exited I5 at exit 88, drove over the overpass, and re-entered southbound I5. An officer was able to PIT the vehicle, and several cars surrounded him but he rammed the patrol cars and continued... this time driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I5. Ultimately, he struck a civilian vehicle, which brought his vehicle to a stop. Officers were able to get him in to custody quickly. The passengers of the car hit were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and all officers and Taylor were unharmed. Taylor vehicle was stolen out of Olympia. Taylor was subsequently booked into jail for assault 1, unlawful possession of a firearm, eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and assault 2.
