Suspects in Stolen Vehicle Crash During Police Chase

Fayette County, Georgia - On September 15, 2023, The Fayette County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) arrested 3 men after a vehicle pursuit and manhunt, successfully apprehending Marcus Morris, 21, of Riverdale, GA, Brian Reynolds, 20, of Riverdale GA, and Derrick Strong 20, of Atlanta, GA. At approximately 5:20 p.m., FCSO deputies located a stolen vehicle leaving the QuikTrip near Highway 85 and Corinth Road. As deputies approached the area, the suspects initiated a pursuit. The pursuit continued until the suspect lost control of the vehicle near River Mist Drive. At the end of the pursuit, the three male subjects fled the scene on foot, prompting an immediate response from The Fayetteville Police Department's (FVPD) K9 Unit.

With the collaborative efforts from FCSO and FVPD, a comprehensive search was launched to locate the suspects. The suspects were successfully located and apprehended in the nearby woods by 5:50 p.m. Morris, Reynolds, and Strong all face a variety of charges including Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Fleeing/ Eluding Law Enforcement, Seat Belt Violation, Obstruction of Officer and Reckless Driving. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office commends the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork displayed by all the units involved in this operation. Their swift response and coordinated efforts ensured the safety of the community and the successful resolution of the incident.
