Cops Arrest Two Men Passed Out Inside a Car With Guns in Their Laps

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – On September 5, 2022 officers respond to NW 39th & Portland Avenue for vehicle at stoplight with unconscious people inside. Officers approach and see driver & passenger asleep with handguns. Officers move back, establish a perimeter and request assistance from an OKCPD drone operator. Officers use several methods attempting to wake the driver and passenger. Efforts go on for nearly an hour unsuccessfully. Officers eventually approach the car and remove two handguns from inside the vehicle.
The driver had a loaded handgun on his lap. A second loaded handgun was found in the passenger side door, officers safely retrieved the weapon. Passenger wakes up and is taken into custody. Officers determine he has a previous felony conviction for eluding police, and has a pending case for felon in possession of a firearm. Driver wakes up and is also taken into custody. Officers determine he has previous convictions and is currently facing charges for possession of a firearm after previous conviction. Both transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
