High-speed Police Chase Ends in a Crash in Bulloch County, Georgia
Bulloch County, Georgia – The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) released a dashcam video showing the vehicle pursuit that resulted in the death of 27-year-old Ashton Mingle. Sunday for driving on a suspended license and for a felony warrant. Mingle did not pull over and led Walden on a chase down Pulaski Road in the direction of Candler County, according to officials. After maintaining non-excessive speeds for the majority of the pursuit, Mingle suddenly accelerated. In the dash cam video, Walden can be heard updating dispatch, saying "speed is at 82" and "speed is at 113". Soon after that, Mingle crashed his car into a bridge, sending it into the water. Deputy Walden repeatedly shouted, "10-50," signaling a vehicle incident. Officials said deputies jumped into the water, freed Mingle from his vehicle and gave him first aid. After EMS arrived Mingle was pronounced dead.
