What a month! Dec 24

Planned and Canceled Exhibition at Mane (and Another Group Exhibition in a Cool Artistic Café)

Oh boy, this story was both sad and a huge lesson for me. We couldn’t agree on the format of the exhibition with the café owner—language barriers played a big part in it. A great learning experience, for sure. But, as a result, on Christmas Day, my works will be featured at the Christmas market—different watercolor postcards, all made with real pomegranate hues. 🍷✨

NPAK Exhibition Ending – Works Sent to a New Owner

The NPAK exhibition officially wrapped up, and I collected my pinups from the gallery. Some of them will soon be available in my shop, but here’s the fun part: two of the pinups already found their new home and are on their way to a happy collector! 🎨

🚜 Unpaid Commission Story – A Lesson in Trust

Okay, this one’s a bit of a mess. I was approached by an excavating company with a “glorious” idea for pinup-themed art. Coincidentally, I had a bunch of similar sketches from my early freelance days, so I was super excited. I completed the job, and the art turned out great, but… they asked to postpone the payment after I handed over the files. I trusted them because, you know, people can be good, right? Wrong. Nobody paid me. I reached out to the owner, and after two promises to pay “today,” here we are—still no payment. So, here’s a fresh beauty pinup from me, on the house! Oh, and a friendly warning—don’t ever work with Fisher Earthworks. Hehe. 😏

Circus Project Wrapped Up 🎪

For the past two months, I’ve been working on an exciting project for the Vardanyan Brothers’ circus. It was an absolute blast! I created a whole batch of merch for their new program—posters, popcorn boxes (yes, even those!), and tons of fun illustrations. Seeing the entire city filled with my circus-themed posters was incredible, and attending their big premiere was such a special moment. 💖

Postcard Project and Future Plans

Between my commissioned postcard project for the big weather forecast site and frequent questions from my followers, a new idea sparked—I could make my own line of postcards! Fun fact: I noticed that my old merch shop’s bestsellers were holiday-themed—Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, etc. So this year, I’m planning to introduce a fresh format: postcards! The first design is almost ready, and if you’re a Fan or Super Fan, you’ve probably already seen the sketch. 📮💌

That’s it for this month’s WHAM! Thank you all for sticking around and being part of this wild ride. Here’s to more art, more lessons, and more creative adventures in the new year! 🖌️✨

Comments

I’ve been on the hiring side for professional artists a few times. It’s gross that they didn’t pay you! Ugh.
