A few changes on the horizon...
Added 2021-09-06 15:50:38 +0000 UTCDon't worry, nothing really too big a deal, but we just wanted to let Patreons know where things will be headed with "The Depths" and "Insignificant Otters".
* First off, we have arranged a Patreon for "Island Girls" at last, nothing too big at all, but we felt we should take the "human" out of the "furry" world. So if you're here primarily for your support of that comic, we want you to consider support at that location and dropping yours from here. It's not fair for you to have to support something you don't like, and we will be moving ALL "island Girls" content over very soon. The website is just about set and we're really excited about where the comic is about to go, plus the very nice xxx-rated perks we plan. ♥

* Secondly, we are aware of the lapse in support the past couple of weeks, due in part to comments that were made and that then escalated out of anyone's control. This is sadly part of the internet, things happen, feelings are hurt, and that's that. We learn from our mistakes, we move on, and count on people to move on with us. We appreciate those who stuck around. We also want to be clear to everyone here: These are our creations. While we accept criticism and try to cater to what is needed as often as we can, it is unwise to try and tell us how to do what we do.
True, we are "young stuff" when it comes to webcomics. These are an entirely different business to us and we are striving all the time to maintain things best we can, and to make sure our writing continues to shine. Telling us off, often harshly, like some unnamed furries out there, doesn't help us one bit. We appreciate when our supporters have to say, but just because one furry doesn't like a direction we're taking, it doesn't mean everyone can or should entertain the same ideal. Only when it becomes a majority will we act, which was why we replaced Roy Wolverine with Moonabel. The supporters, as a majority, spoke and we listened. THAT is how it works. We want everyone to remember this, please.
* Thirdly, our plan is to have this "The Depths" story finished in approximately 35-40 more pages, perhaps even shorter since we no longer have to work with some of the cameos, and we can essentially "write them out". Then we'll decide what to do next. There was some talk that we could perhaps have a short "reveal all" flashback in retrospect that would explain everything, the when, the why, the how, the who, etc., and THEN go back to the other story arc and tie it all up with a lovely, sweet ending. We'll see about this, because I'm a bit torn. We worked so hard on the New York City story, and everyone was excited about the "feesh out of water" scenario with the otters. It's also a story that's ALREADY completely written with no need to change much, if at all. So...with Moonabel's blessing and enough support, we COULD make this a weekly endeavor again.
* Our excitement for "Insignificant Otters" has reached a fever-pitch now, because we got them out of the cave at last and can go BACK to what we really loved most: the one-offs. We applaud Jollyack's uncanny writing ability with "Sequential Art" to mix one-off jokes together with ongoing stories that last months. Maybe we'll still try again with that, and do a "spoof" of other stories. But for now, we love the one-offs. Based on the super popularity of the last page, we have a feeling our supporters do too. So, we'll keep doing those, and mix around "Imaginary TV" together with "Imaginary Video Game Console", hobbies, and of course "IMAGINARY FRIENDS!" :D We'll make this one work well, because we both adore this comic strip. ♥
* Oh! One final note, we did manage to get "Shadows in Light" into Barnes & Noble stores across our state and we've sold approximately 150 books so far. Also, a dear furry friend of ours is taking the novel with him to Los Angeles for a few days and meeting with a fellow he knows at Paramount Pictures for a possible screenplay to be written and produced. We're hoping the numerous 5-star reviews we've gotten so far will be a big sell - but it sounds like they've been looking for a fantasy project and we could be it. *crossed paws*
That's really all we had to say. I myself and Riffraff appreciate our hard-working artists to no end. We also bless them very much for understanding our lack of funding at times, and we're glad they have other work/commissions they can fall back on. Also, we bless our supporters, that is every one of you. While I had every right to be very angry with the fandom at large, my mistake was venting that anger out in public. Because once it's out there, you cannot take it back. I thought I had done the right thing in deleting that journal after it was posted. I however did NOT expect it to be copied, and then turned into screencaps that helped to escalate the situation and attempted to tarnish us.
THAT I felt was uncalled for, and I can't believe it turned out to be someone we had both put so much trust in. Lesson learned, we guess. =(
Thank you for believing in us. ♥

Damn, the fact that someone who was one of your supporters was responsible foe the mess of tarnishing you guys was uncalled for, yes. It sucks to hear what you guys went through. But thanks for the update and we're glad to be here for you still. You have our loyal support, leilani and riff.
2021-09-07 04:28:03 +0000 UTCWhile that does suck what happened, thanks for this update. I had totally forgotten about Island girls and thought that series was dead. Now I am please it's not and will look into it. I can't promise if I will support but I will check for sure. As for depths, that's good to know the current story arc will end and about what pages and what the plans are for that. The big New York story we've all been waiting for; what happened to Leilani and David, why did they divorce and other questions need to be answered even if I have ideas of what happened. IN Otterss (I shortened the first word) nothing to say but can't wait. As for the book still trying to read a chapter a day but as a one man army I can only do so much per day but I'm liking it overall so far
