Not too bad for a spur-of-the-moment idea from Riff!
Comfort and joy.
Two words that express a great deal this year - probably more than any year we've ever lived. May you find comfort, whether it's snuggling with a pet, talking on the phone with family or friends, being together with a loved one cooped up in the house or apartment, or relaxing alone, watching a warm Christmas movie, sipping hot cocoa or eggnog.
Christmas is a holiday of joy. It's the celebration of a very special birthday on the Christian calendar, and it doesn't matter who you are, or what paths you follow. Christmas is globally celebrated, if not one way, surely another. Maybe it's not just about the birth of a savior. Maybe it's about the observance of Saint Nicholas, who during the Roman Empire, stopped by the homes of children to give the gift of gold coins to those who left their shoes outside for him.
Or maybe you follow the wonderful tradition of Santa Claus, who every year travels across the world with a sleigh and eight reindeer, to give gifts to mankind.
Finally, maybe it's a celebration of life itself. While we mourn the loss of over a million people to a strange and horrible virus, we still must find a way to have joy. Joy to a new year, to new goals, to new paths to new adventures. Joy to the light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
Like we said, especially this year. While we can't wait to see 2020 leave already, let's give 2020 our best tidings by being in comfort, and blessed with the joy of the holiday. ♥
May we all find comfort and joy this holiday season, and beyond.
Lani, Riff, Roy and Ralph ♥
