PLUS-STARS PART TWO

In Zatanna’s stage, it seemed that for once Kory and Mary Jane weren’t the hungriest people in the room. The restoration of old memories brought new feelings in the newly formed team of heroines. Zatanna had her employee’s bring tons of food which she enchanted. The eight heroines, Dazzler, Emma Frost, Elsa Bloodstone, Elektra, Power Girl, Tigra, Wasp, and Zatanna, were all desperate to work their way to get their old bodies. In the previous timeline none of them weighed any less than 250 lbs, so if an magically altered feast was a way to return then they’d take it!

Starfire had to remind the others that Kang was still out there and needed to be stopped. She proposed splitting up, the two sides of the table drew straws. Jackpot would be accompanied by Dazzler, Emma Frost, Power Girl, and the Wasp to figure out a way to travel outside the timeline. While Starfire would take Bloodstone, Elektra, Tigra, and Zatanna to continue exploring the history of this new reality in hopes of finding clues about Kang’s plan.

After the planning and feasting, the two teams split up. Kory suggested starting with the Baxter Building, where all of this disaster started. Her team visited, and confirmed suspicions, the top five floors were just as ordinary as the rest of the building. Perhaps Kang had a connection with one of their villains? The only problem that theory created was that the only one villain of their’s capable of time travel that Starfire knew of…the Soverign of Latveria…Doctor Doom.

Even Kory shivered at the thought, but it was a lead at least. They could only hope to make one visit, until the other team could develop a consistent means of travel for them to use.

Zatanna teleported the others as close to Latveria as she could. The five were in Romanian territory and took shelter. They took an hour to pack food and prepare for the mountains. The enchanted feast had a quick effect on all their figures, thick thighs and pudgy pot bellies were minuscule in comparison to Kory’s near quadruple digit frame.

Elsa bought a long coat, Elektra’s suit was already prepared for Harsh weather, Kory could always heat herself with the sunlight she absorbs, and Zatanna summoned a puffy jacket and snow pants. Tigra however insisted her fur would be sufficient cover from the harsh temperatures of the mountains.

She was sorely wrong, as not even two hours later she was a shivering mess, nonetheless refused to take up Elektra”s scarf offer.

Near the top, Zatanna suddenly fell to her knees, turning red. Elsa helped her back up, inquiring what was the matter. Zatanna shook her head, and composed herself. She meditated, and glowed! Power was surging out her body, and the others were clueless as to why.

Minutes later, robots flew down from the sky, without making such a noice or indication of their presence. Starfire realized these were no mere robots, they were the magical Doombots. She ordered her team to protect Zatanna!

They fought with much vigor, Elektra ripping Doombots apart with her weaponry, finding her size was not a hindrance on her abilities, for now at least. Should she find her love, Matt Murdock, again she’ll have to adjust her methods of combat. Elsa was content to blasting away with dual shotguns and Tigra made do with her claws. Starfire was easily the biggest force to be reckoned with, tearing through the legions of Doombots coming their way.

The problem was the Doombots kept on coming, and they didn’t tire or succumb to the cold easily, unlike the boulbous band of fighters. Elsa’s guns were broken, Elektra was knocked out into the cold snow, and Tigra was restrained by a mound of bots until she passed out to a lack of air… Starfire remained, close to Zatanna, still in her trance. The alien powerhouse saw a green glow, and a tall imposing figure. The same knightly armor, the same green tunic and robes…but he biggest surprise was the lack of one signature element of the famed Dictator’s design.

Victor Von Doom’s face was out for the world to see.

Starfire was exhausted, only making one demand, to know why they were being attacked.

Doom obliged.

He explained that Zatanna was tapping into celestial energy somehow, and he wanted that power for him and his country. Kory raised an eyebrow at the word “celestial”, when suddenly Zatanna woke up in cold sweat. She explains to Doom that said celestial energy is dying and would be useless to him.

Doom thought, and ordered his bots back, and to bring Zatanna and her teammates to Castle Doom…

Once inside, the group recuperated. The ones that were knocked out had their suspicions but when offered food they agreed to not make too much a fuss of it.

Elektra found Kory and Zatanna, sitting at a table waiting for the rest. Doom was absent, offering asylum was mercy enough from him.

The five were seated. There was no feast to bring any sort of semblance of victory. Kory and Z looked dead serious.

“I know what Kang has done…”
