it was... a mess. had a lot of good ideas. had a lot of bad ideas. had some excellent casting. had some garbage casting. it could be a poster child for the dangers of trying to make a movie by committee. in the hands of an auteur or with less studio meddling the foundation was rock solid. the house they built on it though was a haphazard disaster.
