Runicca v0.0.1 07-23-2020 Release Post!

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to announce and make the first release of Runicca available to you!!! Please take the time to play the game. Using auto mode, Episode 1 will take you at least an hour to go through (considering no f* pping involved ;) ). Your mileage may vary since now, the auto text's delay can be adjusted through the Option menu's sliders (there's a minimum delay of 2.5s I believe when the dialogue is shorter than a certain length). Episode 1 doesn't have choices. Not yet. This'll come in later episodes or side episodes.

PS: I've also remove certain animation limitations on the Android version, but I think this game will not be suitable for those "mid range" phones from 3 years back. If your phone performs similar to a Snapdragon 730, you're good to go (tested it, and it works quite well.)

PS 2: I need to work on some materials later to promote this game lol, so they'll be available in the usual places - NG, Itch, GameJolt - but this will be the demo version. You can try it out, but I'll make the full version available in the usual formats too. (see below)

Note: For users using web security with settings and controls you don't have control over (DNS with adblockers, VPN services with extra security enabled, etc...), especially iPads, iPhones with the aforementioned services - the online version of the game may be blocked from loading due to the advert scripts on these online gaming portals because by default, they are set to aggressively block those. The solution is to switch over to a different service, or (temporarily) disable them if you have something else. If you are just using an Ad blocker on your browser, this generally shouldn't cause problems if you have control over the settings.

Oh yeah ;) 1.) Thanks for that! Would you happen to know how many seconds the black screen stays on before you see the "Loading" graphic and after the screen fades white when you do a new or load game? I'd just like to compare the load times on my test unit, and this is interesting since you're on a 835 chip from 2 years back! It's long because all the animations and their graphics (especially the magic animations) are loaded right there and then. The backgrounds and other static images are loaded at the start of the game. It's good to hear that it runs well after the loads are done. 2.) Updated the online build and platform build links above ;) Please see if it works for you now! 3.) Ah yes, it is. So I was seeing the difference as well! I actually see two versions of it on different screens - one that's dark, another that's even darker @.@ Maybe I can tuned these up. 4.) Haha! I don't know what to tell you ;) It's a combination of.... hmmm.... a combination of what I felt at the time, my interpretation of the script, pose and animation limitations... and well, if you like more gore, that's no problem with me lol. Honestly I didn't know if I could draw a deformed goblin face, but an exploding one might be easier to do. I didn't think about that until now. A sliced neck might not have been possible because the strike was from the back (considering the pose of the monster).

Nice graphics and nice story telling. A few minor things however: (All from the Android version on a Samsung Galaxy S4 tablet running Android 10.) 1. The black screen at the beginning before the question appears lasts a bit long. I was wondering if it crashed. Loading time when continuing is also rather bit long but at least there is a progress indicator. Aninmation speed etc. is fine. 2. The sexy scene did not unlock in the gallery. 3. The dark forest background is nice in Runicca's scene, but when Viktor and Quinn are foraging it is extremely dark. I wasn't able to make out anything except for a few color patches. 4. The fighting is IMHO a bit off. Quinn is supposed to be intelligent and an experienced sword fighter. Hacking an enemy apart midriff does not seem like a very good idea to me, when fighting against many enemies. Even if it works, it takes longer then striking at a vulnerable point like e.g. the neck. Same thing with punching your fist through an enemy's breast. You could kill him by punching him in the face with half the energy and save the remaining energy for the next enemy. Even if that is not possible because of the spell, if you punch through something your arm is blocked for some time, so you wouldn't want to do that.

First feedback! Haha! We're really happy it met your expectations! At first this might appear more like a static VN type of game, but the choices will be in later installments of episodes and sub-episodes ;) I suppose replay value is affected until we have more episodes in D:

Well I played it and must say it was really friggin good the art,the characters, the writing, the sexy scene all of it. It was quite fun
