An Update
Added 2025-07-13 17:54:34 +0000 UTCUsually, when I post chapters for free readers, I read them again with the foreknowledge of all of your reactions and how the future plot is developing. If I don't like something, I go back and change stuff around to improve it. It's minor stuff mostly, like phrasing or hints for future storylines, so I don't make a post about it, but this time there are some major changes.
I have changed the whole Imogen arc in Ch-231. That arc was the most controversial one, and dare I say, the most hated one. In hindsight, yes, it was pointless to have Troy be involved with her. So, I have instead chosen to do some character development with one of his exes. You can read the changed version here.
It won't have a major impact on the future plot lines, just wanted to let you know if you were to revisit that arc. Ch-232 onwards will also receive a revision either tonight or tomorrow.

Rewriting 2-3 chapters is one thing, but completely revamping the story is not my cup of tea. No one can change my mind on this. Moreover, this is not a core romantic story that has to have a perfect start to a romance arc.

2025-07-14 07:31:57 +0000 UTCMy advice on this would be to put the old chapter back for now, get the story to a natural slowing point, maybe after the release of the last Harry Potter film, and then alter your schedule to 2 new chapters per week with a dedicated effort to a complete rewrite of what has already been published. I think the entire build to a relationship with Scarlett can be improved. People don't seem to realize it, but before he invited her to the island in ~November 2007, they only spent time together on four days that entire calendar year (Academy Awards, day after, music video, hospital visit). It's also worth noting that IRL Scarlett was filming The Spririt when their island escapade took place. Early 2007 though, Scarlett isn't really doing anything. You can do press for Disturbia, add a scene of them filming the music video, have Troy agree to let Scarlett crash the boys trip once a week in a different city, make it seem like they are actually building towards something before Troy cuts it off for The Dark Knight, which makes that a much more meaningful decision. There's also something else you should consider with Scarlett going forward. The defining role of her career has been Black Widow. With Troy now owning Marvel, if you want to be realistic, that casting is going to be viewed much different by the public and the industry. She's never going to dodge the accusation that she only got the role because she was sleeping with the guy who owned Marvel.
