That Meave and Butcher would somehow hook up in their mutual depression spiral was also not on my bingo card but once it happened it was truly 'oh of course' moment at least for me. I love that musical number. They recorded Karen signing (same as that small part she sung in pilot). They did weeks and weeks of choreography trainings, and it was such a random but lovely moment I must say. I really appreciate it! Seth Rogen actually already played 'Seth Rogen' in few prior episodes as an actor who does movies with Black Noir and Translucent. He went on confirm this is meant to be the same character :D So fictionalized version of himself. Jensen Ackles looks absolutely smoking here and I really like his take on this twisted Cap America/Winter Soldier combo character. Random thought but I also have to shout out my appreciation of Colbie Minifie who plays Ashley. She has somewhat ungrateful role just taking Homelander's abuse most of the time, but she really aces the acting of all the conflicting emotions she keeps bottled up especially in that scene with Starlight here. I believe she was only intended to be side-character in S1 but just based on the acting they kept her and kept promoting her character :D
