Flowframes 1.42.0 is out! Download here.
Added 2026-01-29 21:59:58 +0000 UTCTheeere it is.
This one got way bigger than planned but I'm finally done with 1.42 (I think lol).
Here's an overview of the biggest features, fixes and changes.
New: Support for HDR video interpolation (bt.2020)
New: Support for Alpha (Transparency) with RIFE NCNN VS with various codecs/formats
New: Smart passthu/transcoding for audio/subtitle tracks - Flowframes now decides for each audio and subtitle track if it gets copied, re-encoded, or dropped, based on compatibility with output format. Previously, Flowframes decided this for the entire file at once, potentially causing unnecessary re-encoding of some tracks
New: Allow interpolation below 2x for RIFE NCNN VS - Experimental!!
Improved: Better, more descriptive and less redundant error messages
Improved: Loooots of GUI improvements, e.g. correct display of non-latin letters in the Patron list, better error message boxes featuring a Copy button, a wider log viewer, more
Improved: CLI improvements, e.g. ability to view help text without launching the application fully
Improved: The main log box text can now be zoomed using Ctrl+Mousewheel while the cursor is hovering above it; click the middle mouse button to reset the zoom
Improved: Handle cases where EA's Javelin Anticheat would crash Flowframes
Improved: Much, much cleaner logging + less clutter in CLI mode
Fixed: Certain rotated videos (e.g. portrait videos stored as 16:9) would be stretched/skewed
Fixed: Certain message boxes could get their text get cut off if a line was very long
Plus looooots of behind the scene changes, optimizations, codebase cleanup, refactoring, ...
Hope you like it - feel free to report any bugs you find.

2026-01-29 22:23:38 +0000 UTCI get this python error after a clean installation: A python error occured during interpolation!
