Return of the Thumb

TA DAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Those of you who have been following along since the first of the year will know that I accidentally tore my thumbnail off halfway down in a freak snow shovel accident. Nearly two months later, my thumb is finally ready to face the world again! The edge of the nail bed remains surprisingly sensitive, which is why the white part of the nail had to grow out before unveiling. The surrounding skin is still a bit chapped after two months bandaged but, still, THUMB!!!

Ah, memories... not.

Studio-wise, I broke my "I'm done now" vow and worked on stocking a few more items for Constellation 14 next weekend. I've the con jitters something fierce, as my stock has changed* and the world is... whatever it is, so I have no idea how busy of a weekend to expect. I need ConStellation and Great Plains Gamer Fest to be good cons, but I also well understand people needing to prioritize right now. As my husband always reminds me, I never know how a con is going to go, regardless, so "Don't worry and roll with it."

*Since StickerMule imploded their reputation during the election, I haven't found a vendor to replace them. I also haven't any new sticker designs, so I'm doing without this round and will continue researching options for when I do have new designs to offer.

All this is to say: I haven't painted a lick the past few weeks. It's been nigh impossible to focus in the studio, so I've been tweaking con stock, working on assorted house projects, and a host of other randomness that will hopefully come good (as in, more good to put in the world) as the year progresses.

Next week is my traditional "Dead Week" before a convention, where I don't do anything practical that doesn't directly involve spoiling myself before a long work weekend. I consider painting time spoiling myself, so here's hoping for a reprieve from existential restlessness.

Take care of yourselves out there! HUGS

I too haven't found a sufficient StickerMule replacement. Please let us know if you find one you like!
