I am so on Eloise's side in the whole argument with Penelope. How in Penelope's twisted brain could she construe bringing scandal upon Eloise's name and almost ruining her family's whole reputation as helping Eloise. Eloise had a plan to deal with the queen. She was going to take the fall and give the queen whatever she wanted. Everything would have been fine. Penelope may have "given up" on writing as Whistledown but I'm convinced that was not her original intention when she wrote those words about Eloise. Clearly she just didn't want Eloise to take the fall because she wanted to continue to write as Lady Whistledown and write about the queen and society however she wished.

Your reactions do make me laugh π There are parts I wished that they kept in like Pen's reaction to overhearing how Colin would not court her. She does not run away in tears. Antony putting a certain 'bully' in their place and the story line With El working out who Lady W is. I won't say what happens incase anyone wants to read them.

2023-06-06 23:16:07 +0000 UTCPenelope was my favorite character, until about the 6th or 7th episode of season 1 when I started to suspect that she was Lady Whistledown. Not sure who my favorite character would be now, but Eloise is up there for sure. I had a feeling she would be the one to find out that Pen (I liked your wordplay with her nickname) and I'm a bit surprised it took her as long it did to find out, but this way does make for better TV. This might be the first time that I liked Lady Featherington! I'm glad to see that Anthony and Kathani finally got their heads out of their you-know-whats and declared their love for each other! Anyways, I hope season 3 is even better! I mean, I liked season 1, but season 2 convinced me that this is a must-watch for me :)
