2023-05-23 02:02:03 +0000 UTCWhether Dan was being genuine or not I did love that scene for Nathan's character. That was Nathan being genuine. Despite all the crap Dan has put him through he still loves his father. Nathan feeling the pressure of being as good as his dad and being the "chosen" son and not living up to his father's expectations is a lot for a kid to deal with. I love that Nathan can express this. Nathan's ability to recognize the reasons for his actions and just take time to figure things out goes a long way in making him rootable and something we've yet seen from his father.

2023-05-22 20:44:23 +0000 UTCMy mom's name is Pam! Yeah, I watched the first few seasons of this when it aired and I can STILL feel the weight and stress of the love triangle lmaoo. And I do think Dan loves Nathan he is just incredibly bad at it because of his own unresolved crap. Some people are bad at love, whether they wanna be or not, they just aren't internally equipped to functionally exhibit it. It can exist, but be buried under extreme selfishness and/or clouded by internal dysfunction.
