The character talking to the Collector at the end is Howard the Duck, a Marvel comics creation. There was an ill-fated film about him in 1986. I was expecting you to enjoy this, what with all the songs and comedy. As you noted, it departs from the more serious tone of previous Marvel films, and I believe it sparked a growing use of humorous elements in future films. As you continue, let us know if you agree. Thanks, Reaction Lord.

One of my favorite MCU movies! The ravager you thought was funny ("Captain's gotta teach stuff!") is Sean Gunn, brother to the director of the movie (James Gunn). Sean also does the mo-cap for Rocket. However, Rocket's voice is done by Bradley Cooper. Drax is so big because he's played by a former MMA fighter (I believe he was a heavyweight). Groot is voiced by Vin Diesel, who recorded "I am Groot" hundreds of times in different ways to get the desired effect each time the line is said in the movie. Gamora is actually played by Zoe Saldana, who you recently saw in The Adam Project opposite Ryan Reynolds. So, the 2nd Guardians of the Galaxy movie is in Phase 3 of the MCU, which you'll watch after Doctor Strange. The next movie in Phase 2 is Avengers: Age of Ultron. This is a very divisive movie amongst MCU fans! Some think it's one of the best movies in the MCU, others think it's one of the worst in the MCU, and others (like me) have it right in the middle. I think it's a blast, but it is an Avengers movie, and, in my opinion, isn't quite as strong as the other Avengers movies. It is important for the MCU as a whole, though. Phase 2 does not end with this movie, though. The last movie of Phase 2 is Ant-Man with the delightful Paul Rudd
