Nathaniel Painchaude first appeared in Castle Morden before Rawn and Coven met Lance. Nathaniel admitted to being an importer/exporter along with Lance's father being his most important client.
It's evening and the wheel to his carriage is still broken. Nathaniel wonders what happened to his corvid, the magical bird delivery device, requesting aide when a voice from the woods interrupts.
Two women appearing as bandits approach and explain the corvid was intercepted and that Nathaniel has only one option: surrender and come with them.
The two were not expecting Nathaniel to introduce the second option of taking them both on in a sword fight...
It's fairly obvious who the blonde bandit is, but her friend is Fiola, the attendant to helped Coven and Rawn escape Lavenham and niece to Samuel.
