The concern is "What if Deacon takes the orb piece from Florina's forehead?". Will she cease to live? Rapier has the thought that infusing her necklace with more of his power might help retain her consciousness.
Remember when Scarrow complained he needed another Soul Slap to keep Sian at bay? Well, our psychotic ranger isn't pleased how he's not getting any of that Rapier magic and decides to act out by pretending he needs that Soul Slap right now!
Rapier complies...except unbeknownst to him Scarrow hasn't been in control for a few pages now.
