Tonks is relieved to learn that her OWLs went well after the nightmarish year that she had. Between the basilisk and Lockhart’s ineptitude, she had genuinely feared that her dreams of becoming an auror might have been crushed. While talking to her best friend Hestia, she learns that the creature who terrorized them all year was a basilisk and becomes enamoured with the idea of getting a pair of basilisk skin boots. Approaching Harry to try and convince him to part with a little of the hide leads to something that she never would have seen coming.
