Crafting Party - paper and moved to next Friday, 12/20

Hello lovelies,

I’m super excited to create something together, but we’re gonna have to delay 1 week.

We’re moving tomorrow’s Patron craft party/chat to next Friday, same time (1:00 MST). Robert Kleinschmidt is going to guide us in creating a holiday-themed paper weaving project. You don’t need much to participate - ideally just some colorful, slightly stiff paper (thin paper works too, just is more difficult for folding). Even white paper could work, but it’s nice with colors. :-)

Here’s the ideal paper specs if you want to be more specific:

The paper strips should have some bright colors, 116 gsm weight/density, smooth surface and suitable stiffness. You can also use thin and soft paper strips (under 100gsm) but they are more are difficult to handle, especially for beginners.

Here is an example online seller: https://www.amazon.com/Multicolor-Weaving-Projects-Moravian-Froebel/dp/B0CL6CLDN5/

1/4" strips are 19" long & make 1" stars

3/8" strips are 19" long & make 1.5" stars

1/2" strips are 19" long & make 2" stars

5/8" strips are 23" long & make 2.5" stars

3/4" strips are 26" long & make 3" stars (my recommendation for beginners.)

1" strips are 39" long & make 4" stars

At any paper store ask for ¾” wide 25” long strips of 20lb colored paper (both sides colored).

Tell them the paper is for weaving and folding,

If you want to get really fancy, you can keep a small crockpot with paraffin for the stars to dip in. You can apply glitter before the paraffin hardens.

You don’t have to have paper to still come and hang out! Of course, I love the idea of all making something together, but whomever is present will be creating the lovely atmosphere of community that I want to celebrate together.

Looking forward to next week. :-)

Bests,

Elizabeth
