absolutely. Very empathetic guy.

Noah May

I also wonder if Christine was abused as a kid. Her actions as a child are pretty consistent for an abused child - acting out especially. I don't know, I always found this situation depressing. I'm not trying to get on my high horse or anything but I've never understood how people thought it was funny. It's literally thousands of people going after someone who was obviously mentally disabled (I'm not saying everyone with autism is - but I think in her case it's clear she was) and essentially rewriting her reality.

Mark O'Brien

I do wonder if it actually happened or not. I feel like trolls can get Christine to say whatever they want. My theory is that they wanted to get Barb out of the house because she has dementia and then they threw in the incest charge to keep her away from the home. More than likely, I think Christine is going to be convicted with elder abuse/neglect.

Mark O'Brien

I love Ryan just straight saying “hobophobic”

Marcus

damn. this is the best take. perfectly said.

Ben Cravens

so true!! it seems like he really resists the urge to have a "hot take" and takes his time to think through other opposing perspectives. 👌🏼

Ben Cravens

wheres the discord link

Ricky

Lol

Fatcatfoot

Lol hate when I commit the “faux pas” of fucking my mom.

Scary Brandon

That’s nuts 🗿

4Skin Eater

Holy shit...I had not heard anything about any of this (the assault). What a piece of shit. The smile in the mugshots further infuriates and disgusts me. 😡😡😡

The Homicidal Homemaker

Azzy, the only reason why people refuse to use she/her pronouns for Chris is because the intend behind Chris’ transition. The transition was based around a fetish. Wanting to have sex with hot lesbians, and boyfriendless women. If Trump said he wanted to be a girl to grab more pussies, I doubt anyone would use she/her pronouns for him. It’s the same thing.

crowpen

God damn 🤦‍♂️

RYS

I just still think like the situation isn't laughable, and the fact that she does have cognitive issues still not diagnosed probably just kinda makes me sick that people laugh at her situation, and im always fucking put in a terrible mood thinking about it. I do appreciate facts being given at the beginning

Max Godfrey

i've tried a few times to watch the geno samuel doc bc i love youtube documentaries but seeing how horrible the trolls treat chris so early on makes me feel gross. chrischan is interesting to learn about, but i wish so much that she was never found by trolls. she's been targeted for her autism her whole life, and i think that has caused a lot of the downfall of chris

air

I started the documentary a couple months ago and now I'm like halfway through. It feels even weirder now, idk how to proceed

Tanner Jepperson

There's literally a part in episode 4 or 5 of Geno Samuel's series where trolls speculate that his comic could represent wanting to have sex with his mom

Kyle (WahDahTa)

The entire point was that people get focused on gender when RAPE WAS INVOLVED

Higgle

It’s a joke man, obviously rape is bad no matter who’s doing it. Y’all are dumb.

Higgle

I second this

Colin Beare

This whole sinario is definitely a reality check for everyone online, I'm still kind of taking this whole thing in, buts nice to have 2 good relatable Christian boys give there thoughts on the matter.

Reach

Yeah, agreed. Chris definitely did weird things but it's hard to tell how much of it is her weird upbringing and how much of it is being completely mentally destroyed by people online.

Mulholland Overdrive

I started watching the documentaries and couldn't get through much because the whole thing disturbed me. Watching gave me a sense of accountability. I felt like a firsthand witness to all the abuse Chris gave and received - it's easy to view events like an outlandish TV series, but she's real. The world watched her spiral in real time and not a single person intervened. This was entirely avoidable, and that's the biggest tragedy. Chris is completely responsible for her actions and I'm sickened by her, but I can't help but wonder what her life would have looked like if trolls never found her. Would she have such a skewed sense of morality? I'm autistic too and I really struggle with understanding when I'm being lied to or tricked and it's terrifying. It's resulted in abuse and mistreatment which I willingly walked into, because I believed the person who lead me there had good intentions. This is Chris' daily life, and while I'm not surprised she's lost her mind, I'm horrified that it went this far. I truly hope we never hear from Chris again

Alexandra Good

Have they ever said what the intro song for the mini-casts is?

Mars2Venus

her being trans and her being a horrible being don’t have anything to do with eachother. people getting really triggered over the fact that others are telling them that because she’s vile you don’t have to be transphobic is really stupid. she’s legitimately trans, and she’s also legitimately a human piece of shit. getting mad about that is so dumb lol

azzy

Boooooooo

Vulcans

I love how supermega was the one who put me on to Chris Chan and now we're here.

EasyEKM

There is no way that this could have ended well unless once upon a time everyone got help right off the bat as soon as Chris was born, maybe sooner for the parents, because then they may have recognized autism needs specific assistance to varying degrees. That could have made all the difference. But it ended up a cultural phenomenon of sorts, then tragedy.

Julie NerfNDerp

chris chan’s life is just the most textbook example of grey in a moral story

azzy

A lot of trans people don't even consider Chris actually trans since they only transitioned in order to attract "boyfriend free women"

mutated_rabies_virus

how about you guys do an improv family guy episode for the next minicast

Liam G

I gotta say, Ryan always has great takes on difficult topics. The way he’s able to see the nuance and show compassion in situations is really refreshing.

Guen Kennedy

well put. after listening, I feel kinda gross about even deriving pleasure from the whole thing. there’s just a lot of terrible details about it that would probably be more private (like they normally are in these news stories) if it weren’t for people taking advantage of the mental disability driving the situation. it’s a terrible story, but who knows if it would have ever become this terrible if it weren’t for the participation of the internet. it does seem kind of vulturous.

Ben Cravens

I’ve been rewatching it too and it’s so funny how many times chris says imposter 😭😭😭😭😭😭 among us irl

Saucetin

I haven't heard this episode yet but I can tell this is going to be gross and serious. So how about for the next episode you guys do bad funny impressions for 20 minutes as a palette cleanser?

Canineprawn

I heard someone say that everyone involved in the Chris Chan story is both a victim and a perpetrator and I’ve never heard it laid out more concisely.

James Graham

Eh I dont like the whole chris chan topic so Ill tune into the next one

Audrey Garner

Yeah no shit dumb dumb

Higgle

It's still a bad thing even tho she's trans or not.
