Fjordside Cabin [22x17]

Hey everyone!

This map is quite a departure for us and an experiment. We get a lot of messages asking for several things: smaller maps, landscape maps, simpler themes (like crossroads, paths, rivers, etc.) here's our attempt at that. Let us know what you think!

This map is inspired by sod roof cabins in Iceland and Scandinavia. We thought a strange mystic or retired warrior might live here that you need to seek out for information or protect from oncoming evil.

Just a reminder too, there is just 1 day left for those of you at our VTT tiers to claim your Limited Edition Alchemy Welcome Pack!

Comments

I don't suppose there's an interior for this?

Author Oz

Agreed, when your maps are so unique and ambitious you make us GMs want to design campaigns and/or one-shots around them, that's pretty magical. There are so many mundane crossroad / generic maps out there that these small ones aren't strictly necessary, other than to match the artwork of the more fantastical ones. That said, love this map because it is CzePeku map. High quality through and through. Feel free to keep making more if you have the time but stick to your guns (your big, fantastical guns) with the big maps. Or don't. Whatever makes you happy as creators and fulfilled :) That matters too. ~David

Commenting just to agree with this! These simple maps are amazingly helpful because they are easily slotted into campaigns. Having simple locations that include interiors is amazing!

Angela Wesneski

This is great! The crazy huge maps are obviously amazing, but sometimes I just need a simple yet beautiful crossroads or lakeside for that encounter

Joshua Kass-Amsterdam

I love these, but I agree with other comments I think if you're experimenting with the format then less versions in exchange for versions with an interior on any buildings on the map would be fantastic, as players will always want to go inside and as a DM that means finding another map that fits the interior as close as possible

JMaths

Love it ! Simple and great. But even if it's a simple map, you bring a great touch with the "circle bush !

Thibaut Xelloss

Beautiful, thank you. A lot of your maps have such a highly specific conception and such distinctive decorative detail that I end up happily looking at them for hours — and then not being able to use them. I’m sure we all want to keep seeing those maps, but it’s very nice to have the occasional more generic one too.

James Treadwell

I love these. As someone who prints maps for in person games, this size is great

Kiara Stapleton

This is adorable!! I'd love to se the inside, also I would think a fairy ring or a rune ring option surrounding the cabin would be neat too!!

KodzuKenzie

so many other mapmakers are doing simpler themes (like crossroads, paths, rivers, etc.)... i think you stand out with your complex and beautifully hand drawn stuff.

KoonFox

You just handed me the map that's going to be the pivotal location in my current campaign. I have such a clear vision in my head of what it should look like, and this is pretty much it!

Fable (not the game)

Yeah like the big elaborate maps are excellent for set pieces or for inspiration as you design an adventure. But if you want a library of versatile things for replacing less beautiful maps or to use in sudden encounters in more mundane places, you need some of those more mundane or general places!

Veronica Sipe

Beautiful

Unwated Arcana

Agreed that these smaller maps are so helpful. Thank you!

Kit Ortega

Stuff like this is great and exactly what I've always wanted from you guys! Your battle maps are incredible but your art style is so good and I get way more mileage out of the simpler stuff that I can drop into many situations while my players travel around the campaign world.

Keelin McCoy

I for one love maps like this! Smaller and more universal things to drag + drop into existing stories. Thank you!!

Tango Bloom

Yeah, im gonna need an inside.

M M

We absolutely NEED the inside of this cabin
