August 2023 Status Report

Well, I missed one of those for July. Unfortunate, but it happens.

So, what's been going on ? The answer is a fair bit, and not much of it good.

First and foremost, for those who haven't been looking at RR, I have fallen ill. I'm currently in the middle of doing lab tests for stomach pains and, to be candid, expulsing blood through the rear end. Needless to say, being in constant pain has made my writing come to a rather abrupt halt, at least for the time being.

And for these last few weeks I've been fighting my university's bureaucratic incompetence, and have been continuing to do so, despite classes starting up. And not only have they manage to give me the wrong schedule for my classes, but by attending the right ones I've found out that they're effectively pointless for me, being...well, the basics of english, and I am FAR beyond that, but I am still forced to attend some like a good little automaton or I will get kicked out and thrown in all manner of trouble.

That is, in short, why there was little to no activity in the later half of august. I do plan on trying to pick up again as soon as my meds start helping, but I have no idea if they will or to what extent. I'm also probably going to more or less ignore my university as much as I can since it can't get its shit together and what little it manages to get right is effectively pointless for me.

My girlfriend has also come to live with me, which while a very joyous occasion, was also problematical, with all the teething issues that imposes and the problems of her moving to a foreign country (to flee her home one and her psychotic family), and let's not mention the problems with my own family. So yeah.

So, I'm going to try to pick up the pace, but honestly I can't guarantee anything, although I'll try my best.
