Update 0.4 is just around the corner, coming in the next few days. As you already know, it's going to be entirely dedicated to our wolf girl, Hailey, and a few other characters closely related to her. The update will pack quite a punch with content, including artworks, new locations, animated scenes, dialogues, and choices. This marks the final update for the Golden Coast Saga in its current form as you know it. Significant changes are expected in the game, and I'm sure that they will be a positive step forward
BRAND NEW VISUAL
This summer, I started hiring artists to work on the game, taking a cue from my partner Alex Crime. It began with one artist, then another, and soon there will be even more of them. Until now, I did absolutely everything by myself, and each update took a lot of time. With hired artists, everything has become easier and faster. Just recently, Alex decided to try updating the entire visual style in his game, Kiss My Camera, making it more detailed and closer to 3D. I saw the results of his experiments, and I really liked them. I wanted Golden Coast Saga's visuals to look like that too. We both decided to train our artists in the new style, and that's what they are currently working on. I have a couple of proof-of-concept pieces with an upgraded art style quality to share with you

When I was creating the previous game style, I was only thinking about its simplicity. Back then, I had to draw everything myself, and I knew I couldn't make the visuals any fancier. But now that I have professional artists on board, I don't have to worry about simplicity as much, and I can rely on more than just my own abilities. This means that the game assets can be enhanced, and Golden Coast Saga will look more high-end
MAIN CHARACTER REDESIGN
I don't yet know how much the main character Nate will change, but it will definitely happen. Most likely, he will remain a raccoon but acquire more masculine features. And without a doubt, he will get a new outfit instead of that silly purple sweater, hehe. A bit later, as planned, players will be able to choose the appearance of the main character from several options (probably just different raccoon colorations, some darker and some lighter, with different hair and eye colors). Also, starting from version 0.5 of the game, players will be able to give the main character any name they want, I know you've been looking forward to that
YOU WON'T GET LOST ANYMORE
During the early stages of creating locations, I didn't plan their layout very well. For instance, in the School building, after a couple of updates, it could become a complete maze – I had initially planned to have three wings, each with three floors, and a bunch of rooms... In short, it would have been a total confusion, and you wouldn't have been able to navigate it properly. The same illogical layout can be observed in the Boy's and Girl's Dormitories. A fresh perspective on the game will help me get rid of unnecessary locations, and it will make it easier for you to navigate the spaces
NO MORE BROKEN ENGLISH
Another important work on improvements will be done with the English language. As you know, English is not my native language, so I may have made some mistakes, especially in the very first storylines. In version 0.5, all of this will be rectified because all dialogues will be reworked. I've learned to be more on point with proofreading my texts and fixing them up using various services
THE PLOT WILL CHANGE AND GET BETTER
I'll also be addressing the issues with the main storyline. I believe it's better to start the protagonist's story from a slightly different point, one that makes more sense, in order to better delve into his background. This way, I'll be able to introduce the characters you're eager to see - the woman who takes the place of Nate's mother and his step-sister. The storylines involving the girls who are already in the game will remain mostly unchanged
I hope you understand that for such a massive update, it will take some time. I don't think it will be too long, as many processes are already underway. Version 0.5 of the game will already incorporate the revamped visuals and improved storyline and dialogues. It might mean some more grind on my end, but in the end, the game will be top-notch. This makes me happy, happy, haaaappy 🥰
But that's not all the good news. I've been working on the plot of a new game for a while now, but this one features humans and magical creatures instead of furries. The story of this new game will be set in a small fantasy town in modern times, where the protagonist, a young man looking for a fresh start, arrives. With the help of new artists and a renewed workflow, this game, much like the Golden Coast Saga, will get new updates more frequently with even cooler visuals. So all these updates are not being made to stretch things out but, quite the opposite, to ensure that game updates will come out more often in the future
