2025-06-02 15:23:35 +0000 UTCThere are a number of time throughout the games that Nate lightly makes fun of people for smoking (Sully with his cigars, Sam with his cigarettes). I think the reason he doesn't like his friends smoking is because one of his early traumatic experiences was watching that old lady die of a heart attack after smoking a cigarette.

Great video and wonderful insights as always. from a storytelling perspective, I love that Naughty Dog made Sam an unreliable narrator by making us play through his escape from the prison. made the big reveal much more effective.
