Most of the time we learn things as our characters learn them, but when there is a substantial gap in information, such as with Bradley’s true identity, the show uses it so effectively.

Wrath's son (adopted) was brought up to answer a logistical question about how homunculi cannot reproduce. Think of a US President being married and having children. It's like the quintessential idea of a traditional wholesome inconspicuous family.
