Murnazdruld Sappers

The Dwarven Sappers are the silent spearhead of the Murnazdruld, the forgers of the paths their brethren will tread in war. Though heirs to a deep mining tradition, their current labor is that of the military engineer: to open a way where none exists, secure the ground, and prepare the battlefield from within the very heart of the earth.

When the dwarven legions prepare to march, the Sappers are already at their toil. With pickaxe, shovel, and an ancestral knowledge of stone, they excavate assault tunnels, reinforce galleries, detect hidden dangers beneath the surface – gas pockets, unstable veins, subterranean currents – and prepare the charges that will breach enemy defenses. Many hail from ancient mining clans, hardened by generations of work in the deeps; others are war veterans who have traded the axe for the pick, but not their loyalty to their hold.

They seek not the glory of the front line, but the efficacy of a task well executed. Their work is grueling, often performed in darkness and isolation, yet it is vital. Without the Sappers, there would be no safe advance, no successful siege. Their presence is announced not by banners, but by the tremor of the earth and the sudden collapse of an enemy rampart—the path cleared for the fury of the Murnazdruld.

Zapadores Enanos del Murnazdruld

Los Zapadores Enanos son la punta de lanza silenciosa del Murnazdruld, los artífices de los caminos que sus hermanos recorrerán en la guerra. Aunque herederos de una profunda tradición minera, su labor actual es la del ingeniero militar: abrir paso donde no lo hay, asegurar el terreno y preparar el campo de batalla desde las mismas entrañas de la tierra.

Cuando las legiones enanas se disponen a marchar, los Zapadores ya están en faena. Con pico, pala y un conocimiento ancestral de la piedra, excavan túneles de asalto, refuerzan galerías, detectan los peligros ocultos bajo la superficie –bolsas de gas, vetas inestables, corrientes subterráneas– y preparan las cargas que abrirán brechas en las defensas enemigas. Muchos provienen de clanes mineros, endurecidos por generaciones de trabajo en las profundidades; otros son veteranos de guerra que cambian el hacha por el zapapico, pero no la lealtad a su fortaleza.

No buscan la gloria del frente, sino la eficacia de la obra bien hecha. Su tarea es agotadora, a menudo realizada en la oscuridad y el aislamiento, pero vital. Sin los Zapadores, no habría avance seguro ni asedio exitoso. Su presencia se anuncia no por estandartes, sino por el temblor de la tierra y el súbito colapso de una muralla enemiga, el camino abierto para la furia del Murnazdruld.
