Lineage Mother on Horseback

Lineage Mothers are battle sorceresses of noble birth, recognized by the Council for having borne legitimate offspring. Their presence on the battlefield is both political and ritual: they embody the living continuity of the fallen lineage and stand as guardians of the Cycle.

They ride alone, wielding either a staff or a spear depending on their magical training. They wear the Lineage Armor, a segmented metal exoskeleton that runs along the spine, forged to resemble an elongated vertebral column. It offers modest protection but serves above all as a declaration: this body has already fulfilled its duty to the lineage, and offers itself once more.

Unlike other sorceresses, Lineage Mothers fight at the front. Their spells are precise and deliberate—used to break formations, silence enemy mages, or tip the balance in critical moments. They are rarely deployed, but when they appear, their role is decisive.

They are few. And they do not arrive unless they are needed.

Las Madres del Linaje son magas de combate nacidas en la nobleza, reconocidas por haber concebido descendencia aceptada por el Consejo. Más que un título, su función es política y ritual: encarnan la continuidad biológica del linaje caído y actúan como garantes del Ciclo.

Van a la guerra montadas, equipadas con báculo o lanza, según la disciplina mágica en la que fueron formadas. Llevan la armadura del linaje, una coraza de metal segmentado que recorre la espalda imitando una columna vertebral. Su diseño recuerda que el cuerpo ha cumplido su deber como transmisor de vida y ahora se ofrece también al combate.

A diferencia de otras magas, las Madres combaten en primera línea. Sus conjuros no buscan el espectáculo, sino la eficacia: dispersan, sellan, disuaden. Su intervención no es frecuente, pero cuando se las envía al frente, es porque su presencia resulta necesaria tanto para el enemigo como para los suyos.

Son pocas. Y siempre llegan cuando la situación lo justifica.
