These are Lances. The infantry spear is much shorter. If you think of a conical lance, that's a real tournament weapon. Even the Europeans didn't use them habitually in combat. In any case the elven influence is a cross between Greco-Latin and samurai culture. We are intentionally avoiding medieval elements.
