Vampire Boyfriend: Pidge (rough draft)

September 1986

There’s a chill in the air as I leave the bar. I smell like cigarette smoke and bad beer. It had been a raucous night, and I was ready to get home, get a shower, wash that bar smell off me, and collapse into bed. It was still dark out, and at a cross walk I had two choices. I could go home, or I could go to Raul’s apartment. I’d been spending a lot of time there anyways, but I didn’t want to impose upon them. Still, I couldn’t deny my search for comfort was stronger than my need for home.

The door was unlocked, so I let myself into the building. Three flights up and I came across Pidge sitting in the stairwell.

“What are you doing here?” He sounds exhausted, even beaten.

“I was about to ask you the same thing. You look rough.” I sit down beside him, noticing him nursing on what looks like a juice pouch.

“So do you.” He leans against my shoulder. “Looking for Raul?”

I shake my head. “My feet brought me here. I don’t know who I’m looking for.”

Pidge nuzzles to my neck and breathes deep.

He tickles and I giggle. “I’m exhausted, Pidge, and I could really use a shower.”

“Just sniffing the cork. So to speak.” He squeezes off the bag and red stains his teeth. “I’ll get you that shower.”

Pidge takes hold of my hand and we go up together and, to my surprise, the apartment is quiet. Usually, there is some sort of noise going on.

“Raul is at work, so is Gabby. Amon is in his room.” Pidge goes with me into the bathroom. The shower is tricky, so he gets it started for me.

“Why not join me?” I offer. “Like the old days?”

Pidge looks me over. “How’d you know I didn’t want to be alone?”

“Drinking black blood in the stairwell? Pretty big tip off.” I strip off my top and bra. Pidge’s eyes linger before he stands.

“What makes you think it’s black?” He asks.

Black blood was blood sold under the radar. There were several variations of it, including blood taken from people who had just taken drugs so the vampires could experience a ‘contact high’.

“I know you, Pidge.”

He scoffs, stripping away his clothes. I come up behind him, touching his bare back. Pidge flinches but doesn’t move away. “Are you okay?” I ask him.

“I just need a shower, Lucy.” His deep red eyes focus on me and the pupil is very dilated.

I step into the shower, rinsing my hair off as Pidge stands behind me. “Any plans today?” I ask.

“Not really. No work from the garage is coming in at the moment. So I’m just kicking the can.” Pidge scoffs and rolls his neck. “You?”

I turn around as I reach for the shampoo. “I have a session with Raul this evening at the clinic.”

Pidge’s eyes slowly look me over. “Just stay here then. I’ll walk you over.”

“I’ll take you up on that.” I look at Pidge, he certainly has put on more muscle than when I knew him. Pidge was always self conscious about his body, but I never understood the reason why until that first night after I had moved. Pidge was staying with me for the time being, and we were talking while in bed. Talking led to kissing, kissing led to touching, and Pidge confided in me his secret. Pidge was Trans.

“What are you looking at?” Pidge huffs at me.

“Just admiring. You look great.” I use the excess shampoo on my hands to soap up his hair. “You’ve filled out.”

“Thanks.” He tilts his head left and right as I scrub using my fingers. “That feels nice.”

After the shower, Pidge and I go to his room, which smells like motor oil and detergent. I lay down on his bed and snuggle to his pillow.

“Your hair is still wet, it’ll dry funny.” Pidge leans back against the headboard.

I grumble. “I’m too tired to care.”

Pidge pets the top of my head. “Rough night?”

“I’m getting sick of being a bartender,” I grumble. “I should’ve stayed in school.”

Pidge’s fingers comb through my hair, pulling it so it laid flat. “Did you really want to be a doctor? Or did you decide on that because that’s what Raul was doing?”

“I was nineteen, what right did I have making any major life choices?” I chew on my lip as I look up at the ceiling. “I didn’t think Raul was serious either.”

“Job restrictions on vampires had just been lifted, he wanted to prove people wrong.” Pidge chuckles. “He’s still a little wild, not much has changed.”

“He used to be such an airhead,” I sigh. “Don’t get me wrong, he was ace, but I never expected-” I drift off and roll back over, placing my head in Pidge’s lap. “Well, at least I know I was wrong now.”

“How do you know that?” Pidge chuckles.

“Look at Raul! Look at me,” I scoff. “I need a new job.”

I wake up in Pidge’s bed. The room is freezing cold, so I curl deeper under the blankets. Pidge is still sitting beside me. I can feel a twinge coming on. In a few minutes, I would start cramping horribly.

“What time is it?”

Pidge glances to the clock on his side table. “It’s two.”

“Good.” I flop back down into bed. “My appointment isn’t until-” I whimper as a cramp comes on.

“What’s wrong?” Pidge rubs my shoulder.

“Hurting a little.” I breathe deep and let it out slowly. “It’ll be fine.” I lay on my back and gaze back up at the ceiling. “Have you been here this whole time?”

“Nicer than what I usually do during the day.” Pidge lays down beside me. “It was nice watching you sleep.”

I take hold of Pidge’s hand and squeeze it. “Do you still have Hog Wild?”

Pidge’s smile grows. “Yeah, I still have her.”

“How is that possible?” I inch closer to his side. “You wrecked that thing so many times. How is it in one piece?”

Pidge’s laugh is deep. “It’s because of Hog Wild I have a job at all. Thanks to that Frankenstien monster of engineering, I can bring in some money.”

“Does Raul still have his bike?” I ask.

“Nah. He sold that thing in med school, got himself a new one once he graduated. Surprised he hasn’t taken you on a ride yet. He loves showing off that thing.” Pidge rolls over to look at me. “Still hurting?”

“It’s threatening.”

Pidge lays his hand on me, just where the cramping is. He gently rubs, watching my expression for any signs of pain.

“It’s my period,” I sigh. “Exactly what Dr. Polidori and Raul have been waiting for.”

“Are they still bad?”

I nod and wince as a flash of pain crackles through my lower half.

Pidge gently kneads his hand. “I’m here, it’s okay.”

I’m thankful for the cold of Pidge’s room. I usually get very hot and sweaty when these cramps set in. I feel slightly normal here, and with Pidge being close, I allowed myself to suffer a little just to get some comfort.

I snuggle up to Pidge’s chest. “Why are you drinking black blood, Pidge?”

“Because I don’t have you to leech off of anymore.” Pidge kisses the top of my head then massages down my back.

“Seriously,” I scold. “You could really get hurt.”

“I’ve never been one to care about that. Sometimes, it’s nice being reminded of what life felt like.”

“I always kind of hoped you’d grow out of your recklessness.”

“Nope,” he chuckles. “I’m still bat shit crazy as ever.” He places a kiss on my forehead. “What time is your appointment?”

“Six.”

Pidge sighs and sits up. “I should probably feed you then. Just stay here. I’ll go and order the usual.”

“Thanks, I appreciate it.” I watch him as he goes and shut my eyes as the door closes. The cramps aren’t as bad as they usually are. I wonder if it’s because of Vlada and Raul’s treatments?

That evening, Pidge takes me on Hog Wild to my appointment. I hold on tight around his waist as the little motorcycle zooms and sputters. It backfires still, just like it did back in college. Once we pull up out front, Raul is standing there with a grimace on his face.

“You’re going to fuss at me, aren’t you?” Pidge laughs.

“I could hear that thing from miles away. It’s an earsore.” He looks at me. “You should see what I have. It’s much better.”

“This is classic.” Pidge pats the seat. “Yours is going to be dead in a few years.”

“I don’t have time to argue that with you.” Raul opens the door for me. “Where are you going?” He asks Pidge.

Pidge shrugs. “No reason for me to be at the apartment right now. So I may go to Baskers or something.”

Raul rolls his eyes. “Be careful. I’m not going to be there to pull your ass out of any fights. And don’t let Gabby egg you on.”

Pidge salutes. “Will do, captain.”

Raul takes me inside. “Were you at the apartment today?”

“I didn’t want to be alone. Pidge kept me company.” I then tug on his arm. “Do you know he’s drinking black blood?”

Raul huffs, “he told me he had stopped, but that was a few months ago.” He takes me back into his office and has me change into a hospital gown. “Anyways, you said today should be the start of your new cycle.”

“I’m not cramping as much as I normally do,” I tell him. “And I’m spotting, so that means the flow will begin tonight or tomorrow morning.” I sit on the exam table as Raul scoots his chair close.

“I can smell it,” he says. He clears his throat. “Anyways, you said you’re not hurting as much?”

I nod as I lean back on the table. “I’m usually in agony, but after I had some sleep, it was only twinges. I think the treatments we’ve been doing are helping.”

“That’s good news.” Raul eases my legs into stirrups. “It’s progress.” He slips up the hospital gown just a bit. “How would you say you’ve been enjoying your treatments? I’m going to start examining, could be cold.”

“I think you and Dr. Polidori are onto something, Raul.” I grunt at the cold touch of his gloved fingers.

“Actually, Vlada is considering a name change. She thinks that if she’s going to open this clinic, she needs to make it obvious.”

“Obvious?” I ask. I moan as his fingers prod. “What kind of obvious?”

“Not sure. She said if it’s something people can make fun of, then they’ll be less likely to be afraid of it.” Raul’s fingers slip out. “Looks like you’re starting to bleed a bit more. I should send you home to get some rest.”

“Really? That’s all?”

“I want to give it another day,” Raul says. “Once your flow really starts, Dr. Behr has a treatment he’s been wanting to test out more.” He helps me up from the table. “We used to do it often when we were dating.”

“That’s a treatment option?” I chuckle.

“Behr makes it sound medical.” Raul hands me my clothes, as well as a pad to wear home. “Are you going to head directly home?”

“Would it be dangerous to go back to the apartment?”

Raul reaches into his pants pocket and hands me his keys. “You need to rest. I know you don’t have work tonight, so just go there, soak in a hot tub and don’t let Gabby bother you.”

I give Raul a soft kiss. “Gabby isn’t so bad.”

“Give him an inch and find out.” Raul sees me outside. “Be safe.”

“I will.” I wave with his keys in my hand.

As I go down the street, I hear Hog Wild in the distance. Before I know it, Pidge is zooming by. He turns, nearly grinding on the sidewalk and pulls up next to me.

“Well, hello there. How much for the night?” He teases.

“Were you waiting on me?” I come up close to his bike.

“Not exactly.” He then glances up as the sound of another motorcycle fast approaches. “Get on, hurry.” Pidge hands me his helmet and speeds off as soon as it’s on my head.

I can hear the other motorcycle behind us. It blars loudly, speeding up to catch us. I glance behind, seeing a great red motorcycle with matching headlights.

“Pidge! What did you do?” I shout over the roar.

“Don’t worry about it yet!”

“Yet?”

Pidge zooms, taking a sharp turn and going down an alley. He parks his bike and hides it in a small shed then urges me up a fire escape. We hide in the shadows, watching as the red motorcycle slowly pulls down the alley before back out.

Pidge snickers and spits down where the motorcycle had been. “What a joke!”

I slap the back of Pidge’s head. “What the fuck was that?”

Pidge takes some packets of black blood from his jacket. I snatch them from his hands and hold them away. “Seriously! It’s bad enough you’re getting these things, but did you steal them?”

“He cheated me!” Pidge snaps.

I climb further up the fire escape until I’m on the roof. Pidge gives chase. “Come on, Lucy! They aren’t even black lace.”

I hold them over the edge.

Pidge smirks. “Stop playing. They’re in bags, I’ll just run down and grab them.”

I go to twist the cap and he quickly surges forward. “Wait a second now!”

I wince and slide down to my knees. “Crap!”

Pidge stands still and watches, unsure of how to move. “You okay?”

“Cramp. It’s my period.”

Pidge’s eyes go wide. “Oh.” He kneels down before me. “Anything I can do to help?”

“Just sit there.” I hold my arms around myself. “Come near me and I’ll chuck these bags.” I frown at him. “Fucking idiot.”

Pidge sits there and I can see drool glistening on his lips. “You’re bleeding pretty heavy.”

“I know.” The pad that Raul gave me is already pretty soaked. I must have started during the chase and not noticed.

Pidge licks his lips. “Look, I’m pretty hungry. This isn’t helping.”

“I’m not giving you the black blood.” I then spread my legs and lift up my shirt. There’s a stain coming through my tights already. “Get me home.”

Pidge kneels before me, crawling close. His tongue presses to the tights and he moans. “It’s so warm,” he shudders.

My face grows red hot. “Just clean me up so I can get home.”

Pidge takes off my tights and panties. He breathes against my lips, his tongue presses inside. I whimper, biting my lip as he slurps and licks. He moans against me, sending small electric shocks through my body.

“Easy now.” My breath is coming out in white clouds. “Not too much.”

“You taste so good,” Pidge snarls. “I forgot this.” His tongue burrows deep, thrashing around deep inside.

I pull his hair, tugging at the scalp. “You’re going too hard.”

The sharpness of his teeth surprises me, but it’s his thumb on my clit that causes me to jump. He rubs and ruts while his tongue continues to lap up my blood from the inside. He pulls back, mouth and chin smudged dark red. He moans into the air and catches his breath.

“You’re getting wet, Lucy,” he chuckles. He wipes the corner of his unhinged mouth with his thumb. “It changes the flavor. Not that I mind.”

I take slow deep breaths. “You were only supposed to get the mess. But...I suppose that’s fine.” I smile shyly.

He licks his lips. “I did.” His fingers cup over me, kneading me and rubbing to my clit again. “Now let me make one.”

I smile and bow my head. “Not here.”

“Yes, here.” He lifts up my shirt and bra. He dips down, suckling my breast. He bites and nips while his fingers move inside me.

I lay my head back against the edge. “You’re too good at this.”

Pidge lifts his head and kisses me. “You’re so hot inside.” He pulls out his fingers, licking away the blood.

I kiss him, pressing closer against his body. I slip my fingers into his pants, slipping my fingers against him. He’s wet too, and he tightens as I touch. Pidge then pushes me back.

“You’re right, not here.” He puts my clothes back in order. He then lets out a giddy laugh. “It’s too cold, and I don’t want to scratch my back on this gravel.”

I take the black blood and toss it over the edge while Pidge is zipping up his pants. “You have to promise me you won’t go buy black blood anymore.”

Pidge frowns. “But I-”

“Pidge!” I scold.

He takes my hand. “Fine. But you have to feed me once a month.” He holds up a single finger. “I promise.”

I give him a kiss, tasting blood on his tongue. “Promise.”

We go down, retrieving Hog Wild and going back to the apartment. As we walk in, though, Gabriel and Amon are sitting in the living room. Pidge squeezes my hand and gulps.

Amon looks up, his eyes are a darker red than the others. His skin, too, shows more veins. He’s so huge, but at the same time, he’s only a gentle presence every time I’m around him. He’s quiet, I’ve barely ever heard him speak.

“I smell blood,” Amon says.

“No, you don’t,” Pidge says nervously.

Gabriel drops the newspaper he’s reading. “I told you not to bring that black blood into the house. I’m fucking telling on you.”

“It’s not black blood!” Pidge snaps.

Amon’s eyes fall upon me. “Is your moon full?” He asks.

My cheeks flush. “Huh?”

“Your cycle has reached its peak.”

“That’s the blood you smell!” Pidge laughs victoriously.

Gabriel gives him a look. “And you brought her into a house filled with vampires? How fucking dumb are you?”

Pidge grimaces. “And what would you do?”

“Same thing you did.” Gabriel wipes the corner of his mouth. “Come home to finish the job in comfort, did we?”

Pidge looks ready to pop.

“Only if he promises not to drink black blood anymore.” I step in front of Pidge and pull on his hand. “He gets one feeding a month.”

Amon’s eyes widen and he takes a breath.

Gabriel whistles. “Lucky son of a bitch.”

Pidge pulls on my hand. “I don’t need you guys making fun of me!” He pulls me back to his room and huffs. “I don’t know why Gabriel gets to me.”

I strip off my clothes. “I’m afraid now they’ll all be after that offer.”

Pidge grabs me from behind, sinking his hands around my breasts. “I think that’s what you want.” His mouth brushes against my neck. “Four vampires swarming you, feeding off you, pleasuring you.”

I chuckle as he tickles me. “What girl hasn’t had that dream?”

Pidge moves his hands down, opening my thighs as he bends me over the bed. “For now, just one vampire is going to have to do.” He kisses down my back, slowly tracing his tongue down the center of my spine.

We become tangled in the sheets, rolling together. Pidge’s strong hands hold me down, his thighs clamp tight around my ears. He has such a rich taste. It bathes my tongue and dribbles down my chin. I can feel him pulsing around my fingers. I kiss his thighs, he kisses me.

I wake to cold again, Pidge is laying beside me, resting while enjoying his full belly. I have bite marks on my thighs. They’ve healed but they’re still quite tender. I get up from bed, taking one of Pidge’s shirts. As I walk out, I see Amon and Raul are in the living room.

“I smell Pidge all over you,” Raul says as I sit in his lap. He kisses my neck and cheek. “You were supposed to wait on me for that treatment.”

“I know, I’m sorry.” I bow my head against his shoulder. “I just got excited and Pidge was there, so I just-”

Raul sighs. “No matter. I had a feeling you two were heading towards collision.”

I look over at Amon who has his head down. “I made Pidge promise to give up black blood. But in return, I have to feed him once a month.” Amon shivers.

“Well now, that is certainly an agreement.” Raul brushes my hair aside. “You sure you’re up to that?”

“I guess we’ll see.” I slide off his lap. “I need to go get a shower.”

After a bath, I come out of the shower and head to go to Pidge’s room, but as I do, I see Amon standing at the end of the hallway. He’s so big, he still gives me a fright sometimes. But his presence after the fact feels gentle and calm.

“Lucy,” he says quietly. “May I have a word with you in private?”

“Is something wrong?” I turn towards him. “Can it wait?”

Amon fidgets with his fingers. “I’m sorry. I don’t mean to bother. It’s just-” He hesitates as he looks at me. “The offer you gave to Pidge. Is there a way you would make it with me as well?”

I furrow my brow. “You’re not on black blood, are you?”

“No! Of course not.” Amon shakes his head. “I’ve only had red rations for so long. I don’t like to hunt like Gabriel does. I get scared doing that.”

“The red rations can’t be that good either.” I step closer to Amon. “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt.”

“I can pay you for it,” he says. “I’ll do whatever you want.”

“I wouldn’t mind getting to know you better.” I smile sweetly at him. “How about we just get to know each other first, we can see how the feedings go from there.”

Amon smiles, the first one I had ever seen from him. “I would like that very, very much. Thank you, Lucy.”

“I’m happy to help. I’ll let you know the next day I have off. Okay?”

“Thank you,” he breathes a sigh of relief.

When I go back into Pidge’s room, he’s sitting up waiting for me. “What’d Raul have to say?”

“Not much.” I crawl back into bed. “Just that I smelled like you.”

Pidge lays back down with me. “How do you feel?”

I snuggle up close to him. “I feel great. How about you?”

Pidge breaks into a big smile. “You made me feel amazing. Thank you.” He holds my hand, lacing our fingers together. “I’ll keep my promise.”

“You better.” I rest against the pillow, the cool sheets. “How long have you known Amon?”

“Ever since I moved in. This is his apartment.” Pidge brushes my hair from my face. “Why do you ask?”

“I don’t know him that well. He’s always so quiet, but he feels...gentle.”

“He is.” Pidge stretches. “I like being around him. He’s quiet, but he listens.”

“I want to get to know him better,” I murmur. “Gabriel too.”

“Be wary,” Pidge warns. “Gabriel is a lot.”

I smirk and roll over, pressing my back to Pidge’s chest. “What do Amon and Gabriel do?”

“Amon sells paintings,” he murmurs. “And Gabriel is a club kid.” Pidge buries his face in my hair.

“Huh, that makes sense.” I rest again. “Do you like Gabriel?”

“I guess,” Pidge grumbles. “He knows who I am, so he means something.”

I kiss Pidge’s hand. “That’s good.” I fall back asleep with Pidge’s arms around me.
