[Art Trade] (Not) The First Kid on the Moon

Okay, I was working on a commission when this opportunity came up and then the idea of doing this lingered in my mind I couldn't help but do it, especially with the deadline, which happens to be on a historical date so, yeah ^^;

So, what we have here is my side of the Summer Jam art trade event held annually by SailorEnergy on DA, some of you might know this already but this isn't my first time participating in the event (sort of). It was one of the commissions that I permitted to upload to the commissioner's gallery, which you can check right here. After another friend told me that it was open for everyone to participate and after seeing his art trade with Sailor, I'm rather tempted to do it again, this time on my behalf :D. And, since the deadline coincides with Apollo 11's landing on the moon, it is of course another space pic ^^; So, we have my trusty little boy for space arts, one of the OCs from my Astronaut Classroom series Geoffrey "Geo" Chase, Jr., made a successful landing on the moon, only to find out that someone has already been there before him, and that is Sailor's OC from his own Pacificators series, Breanne Goethe, who asked Geo if he would like to play some beach ball on the moon with her, much to his surprise :D

Sailor's side of the trade has yet to be up as of this writing, and an update to this description will be made once it goes live.

Nothing much to talk about the pic's story as the pic here is the whole story, but no, this is not related to the other pic about Geo's moon landing I made commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing (which will be up on Patreon as part of the classics in the future, but in the meantime you can check right here), this one is just a silly random idea of what scenario our characters would be in when they first met each other, let's say Geo didn't realize that he's done goofed in this landing. So with that out of the way, let's talk about the process as this one is a bit more involved (Sorry once again for a lack of WIP post for this one). After a while, I decided to do Geo's pose from scratch this time, as I wanted his pose to be in the 3/4 angle but not that much angled from the front so yeah, I had to do his torsos and suit from scratch. The same goes for Breanne's pose but mostly for the suit, which is a mix of the ones Sailor did in his earlier works, specifically this one and this one. Haven't really done balls of any kind but thankfully in this case of the beach ball Breanne is holding, it was similar to how I did non-bubble spacesuit helmets or gold visors for the p-EMU's helmet (if a scene calls for it or I feel like adding it) for instance. I also had to check out some tutorials and references again to do Geo's shocking face on the second panel, it could be better but it should be enough. For background, I decided to not put as much effort into it as my other pics set on the moon, Not only to save time but also to serve as a hint of what Sailor will reveal on his side of the trade ;)

But overall, this pic was a blast to work on especially since I figured out I should refresh and do another burn-in of my skills at some point, this pic definitely served the latter's purpose. And both poses especially Geo's look pretty good along with his shocked face when he noticed Breanne was already there :D
