[Commission] Join Me Inside!
Added 2023-01-07 15:14:51 +0000 UTCHere we go guys, my first pic of 2023! Well, Sort of. This was actually started just last month but got some art trades to take care of but we got here anyway!
This time we have another commission as a part of my focus on wrapping up the commissions backlog I had since 2020 (which you can find out more about it right here), and while the next pic is gonna be a personal idea after I looked back to my OCs which clearly needs some more attention after a while, I pretty much also got a good idea on how the next commission will look like. So, the first one to go this year is the one for SotoGatling out of DA and Furaffinity, featuring Alet the Red Panda, his Mobian OC which I didn't expect him to have really, I didn't expect him to be a Sonic kind of guy, but here we go ^^;. And shown here is Alet in a negatively buoyant scuba dive in front of an old wooden shipwreck, inviting the viewer to join him. ^^; Yes, negatively buoyant means he actually walked in the sea bed wearing some neoprene boots instead of scuba flippers to dive here, much like what you'd do if you dive using the old diving helmets from the 50s or if you are a dugong feeder at some local conservation aquarium. Kind of a rare concept for me, but hey, it's Soto's call to make it this way so it's a pass ^^.
Nothing much to describe for the process except compared to the previous Mobian pics I did, this one is kind of complex due to how much the colors used here, so a lot of object stacking is involved. It would've been a chore to also apply this to his torso if he doesn't wear a wetsuit, which thankfully is a simpler one, so I only have to focus on his head and tails. And for the background, as some of you guys know, I don't do that great when it comes to object depths in my drawings, but I tried my best by not putting any outline to the ship and top it with blue gradients, otherwise pretty much a fresh take on some of the new things like the fading dark interior of it.
That's pretty much it, I hope Soto and as always you guys liked it!
