Demon Boyfriend: Beleth Part Three (complete)

Ever since the goose chase in the parking lot of his church, I’ve not been able to get Beleth off my mind. I know I should give up the game right away. He should be the farthest thing from my mind, and yet he seems to be the only thing occupying it.

In cartoons they always depict the moral dilemma of a character as an angel and a devil on their shoulders. The devil is always trying to convince the character to do the bad thing, telling them it will be worth it. The angel will always try to steer the character towards what is just and right. But Beleth pretends to be a priest, leading a flock of parishioners who worship the ground he walks on. In reality he is a literal demon expunged from heaven, who has his own strange motives.

I simply have no idea what those motives are. Why is he pretending to be a priest? It’s hard getting people to attend church these days. There must be an easier way to gain loyal followers. I mean, how hard is it to sell drugs these days? Why not turn to the government? Even a Youtuber with an adamant following has a lot of clout. Maybe a few decades ago, when wifi was merely an idea in Hedy Lamarr's head, using a church to spread your demonic presence would be fruitful. Today, there seemed to be easier paths.

Now Beleth has taken over the book club in the store I work. My boss has fallen head-over-heels for him, and why not? The sheep’s clothing he wears is beautiful, like Jason Momoa and Keanu Reeves had a gentleman lovechild. I hate it, but I know his visage is his first selling point.

I’ve been having to deal with him a lot more, and ever since the goose chase, it’s been difficult. Not to mention that, well, we kissed. Not the normal sort of kiss either, but a true-to-form Romance Novel Kiss, and the memory of it is ruining my life.

Ever since he joined the book club, there has been a steady increase in the business we do. We’re just a small used bookstore, so our stream of customers is used to be steady but slow. Now it’s a constant stream of people hoping to catch a glimpse of him. He knows this too, so he makes regular stops just to get his fill. He likes to make excuses, claiming our self-serve coffee bar has the best coffee in town. He’ll make himself a cup of coffee and just linger for a while.

“Don’t you have anything better to do?” I ask him. “I mean, aren’t pastors supposed to spread goodwill? Or is that half a day you work every week just too time-consuming?”

Beleth looks down at me with a smirk. “I didn’t see you down there.” I know he saw me. It’s hard to miss me, especially with a giant stack of new inventory. “I’ll have you know that writing a sermon each and every week is very time-consuming.”

I straighten up with a grunt and take a few books into my arms. “Well, what do you do with the other twenty-three hours of your day?”

“Why are you so worried about what I do with my time?” he asks, coming ever closer to me. “What do you do with your time, Mad?”

I sniff, tilting my chin up to give him my best indignant look. “Why so worried about what I do with my time?” I throw back into his face.

Beleth looks around. There are only a few people in the store, and most are talking amongst themselves or checking out at the counter. Then he knocks the book from my hands, and we kiss again. My back presses against the wall, ripping the poster behind me. His hands move into my hair while mine grip his shirt. How is he able to do this to me? Why do I allow it? He just feels so good, and when he kisses me I fall away from reality.

He cups my cheeks in his hands, pulling away before nipping at my lip. “If you have free time, you should come spend some privately with me. No need to keep stealing kisses in hidden corners.” He swipes his thumb across my bottom lip.

The poster falls on my head, and I gasp in alarm before yanking it down. I look square in his eyes and frown. “Why would I risk spending a moment alone with you? Lord knows what you’d do to me. What do demons do with humans nowadays?”

Beleth shrugs and brushes my hair from my face. “Apparently fuck them.”

My face goes instantly hot, and beet-colored I’m sure.

A laugh escapes his lips, more music than the usual titter. “We can do that too, if you would like. I could get you relaxed with a glass of wine, then take you to bed and make your thighs my pillow.”

I slap the poster in his face and shove him. “Some pastor! Who the hell talks like that?”

He snatches the poster away and tosses it aside. “Your pupils are still dilated.” He takes my chin in his hand, pressing his thumb to my lips. “You’re excited, attracted, and even thinking hard about it.” He moves in again so his lips flutter against my ear. “Wouldn’t you like to know how I feel inside you? You can take all of me, I’m sure. That sweet, supple channel where all life springs, taking my cock, my seed, all my passion.” His tongue swirls in my ear. “If you would have me, I would give you everything.”

I slam my palm into his face and push him. “:k! I’m going to have to start charging you now. You’re wasting my time.”

He holds his hand over his nose. “You’re a hard nut to crack.”

I glare at him, my face still crimson. “And you’re a nut too eager to bust.”

Beleth grins. “You can’t deny your desire for too long, Mad.” He sweeps past me as I gather the books he made me drop. “I have a feeling you and I are kismet.”

I frown as he leaves, hurriedly going to the backroom so I can splash cold water on my face. I know he’s trying to plant ideas in my head. I’m not going to let it work. For one, he’s a demon, and and for another, well, I’ve never done it before. I’m a little embarrassed by it, but at the same time I’ve never really cared. Being a virgin is just another way to objectify people. The title turns them into something other than a human being. It makes them a laughingstock, an example, a prize. Well, in any case, I’m not going to end up some sort of prize for Beleth.

I stay up late that evening, since I have the next day off. As I sit there playing on my phone while the television drones, I feel something breathing down my neck. I turn, but see nothing there. When I look back at the phone, the screen has changed. It says I have a text message, but the alert takes up the whole screen. The phone chimes as another one pops up. My heart starts pounding in my ears, but I open the messages regardless.

“Are you alone? Perhaps you would like some company.”

I frown and answer ‘no’.

“Do you know who this is?”

“I can assume.” I look up to the television and see Beleth behind the screen. His appearance flickers, and for brief flashes I can see his true form beneath the illusion.

I set my phone aside and grumble. “Well, crap. I fell asleep didn’t I?”

Beleth smiles as he comes towards me. “It’s alright to dream.” He sits down beside me on the sofa. “It in dreams we are free. We can climb mountains, walk oceans, even taste something we are afraid of when awake.”

I scowl at him. “Are you talking about your dick?”

Beleth chuckles as he touches me, running his fingers along my scalp and to the back of my neck. “I’m talking about you.” He puts his hands on my shoulders, rubbing down my arms. “I want you desperately, Mad.”

I slap his hands away. “What are you trying to do here?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Beleth smirks.

I roll my eyes and stand up. “I’m not falling for it here, in reality, anywhere. So you best just drop it. Stop tormenting me!”

Beleth rises, and his true form shines through for a moment. He slams his palms against his chest. “You think I want to keep chasing you? Don’t you think I would rather be doing anything else? Instead, I am in your gravitational orbit! I keep circling and circling and circling you, coming in far too rarely!” He storms up to me, grabbing me in his arms. “I don’t know what you have done to me! But I want to end it.”

I push against his arms. “You can end it any time you want to! Just walk away.”

We kiss, and even if we are in my dream, it’s just as amazing as all the others. I feel his long white hair on my cheek, and when I look up I see those strange and hypnotic goat’s eyes of his. I pull him closer again and we fall.

I wake up on the sofa, gasping in alarm as I surface from my dream. Grasping my chest, I let out a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness.” I turn off the television, then check the time on my phone.

I can’t help but wonder if what he said was true. Was I really the one pulling him towards me? Or was he just saying flowery things to turn my head? I mean, in a way, they worked. If I was the one with the power all this time, imagine what I could do to him. I would have to test this ability for myself.

Whenever I have a day off, I make it a rule to never leave the house, but today I make an exception. I head down to the church where Beleth works, and after making sure there’s no goose around, I go inside. I stroll back to his office, where I find him sitting at his desk.

He looks up, then back down, flinching as he returns his eyes to me. “Mad.” He stands from his desk. “What are you doing here?”

I walk in, trying to keep my confidence up. I just have to remember that he is in my gravitational pull, not the other way around. I grab him by his tie and pull him forward, intending to kiss him. Instead, I hit my head against his and he stumbles, nearly falling on his desk. His head hits my chin, and I bite my tongue.

“What are you doing?” he snaps, holding the top of his head. “Are you crazy?”

“No, just-” I grunt in frustration. I had everything worked out on my drive down here. How did it not work? I’m pretty sure my tongue is bleeding. “You’re an asshole!”

“We’ve gone over this before, but why this time?” He walks around his desk towards me. “You’re the one who barged in and attacked me.”

“Last night!” I blurt. “In the dream-” I begin to realize this all sounds ridiculous. I swallow the lump growing in my throat. “You know what you said.”

He exhales loudly. “Yes. I did say things last night.”

I grab his wrist and pull him close to me to try again. He stares down at me, a confused look on his face. Standing on tiptoes, I kiss his neck, opening my lips and dragging them down.

“Hey.” He wraps his fingers around my arms. “What are you doing?”

I tug his tie so it loosens, and unbutton his shirt just enough that I can kiss the top of his chest. I only meant to go as far as his neck, but now I find that I can’t stop.

“Mad!” he grunts. “Mad, what are you-”

I open his shirt more, licking down the middle of his chest. His skin is pale, and he’s very thin. His demon form was quite gaunt, though.

Beleth bites his lip, then quickly pulls away from me. He clutches his shirt around himself and clears his throat. “Fine. You’ve made your point.”

I’m kind of shocked. He’s the one who stopped it. “My point?”

Beleth frowns as he takes off his tie. “You wanted to get me flustered, perturbed, or whatever. Well, you’ve succeeded.”

I shake my head. “No! I was trying to prove I had the power. I figured you’d be begging for me to keep...” I stop and stomp my foot. “What is going on?”

“I try to get you in your dreams for a reason! It’s easier there. Here, it’s-” He finishes buttoning up his shirt and rubs the back of his neck. “It’s awkward in reality.”

I can’t help but laugh.

He glares at me. “Shut up! You come in here, rip my clothes off me, seduce me with your wiles, and then you laugh at me?”

“No! I’m laughing at how ridiculous this all is. You? Awkward?” I keep snickering. “After everything you’ve said and done to me, I find that so hard to believe.”

Beleth scoffs. “And what if I had fallen for your little ruse?” He steps towards me. “What if I begged you to sweep off my desk and take me? What would you have done?”

“I was going to… going to...” My heart is pounding in my ears.

“You had a hard time stopping, didn’t you?”  Beleth slips his fingers under my chin. “Look at me.”

I give him a glance, then look away again. “You said you were trapped in my pull. Was that real?”

“Yes. And I hate it with every fiber of my being.” He smooths his finger over my lips. “I was to devour you whole and it terrifies me that someone has that power over me.” He leans down, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek. “I want to ravage you and at the same time be tender. I want to kiss every inch of you skin, braid your hair, make you moan. I want you to beg for me and only me.”

I take hold of his wrist in my hand. “You know, if you led with that, I might not have been so willing to fight you.” I look up at him, seeing his eyes have shifted. He’s let down some of his guard, and his true visage is peeking through. “I don’t mind having my hair braided.”

“I am not used to this,” he snarls. “I wanted you wrapped around my finger, not the other way around. I wanted to turn the tables, make you want me, even need me. But it only made my suffering worse.” He dips down to kiss me. His lips are warm and taste like coffee.

I lean into him, wrapping my arms around him. I let myself fall into the kiss, and give in this once. He moans softly, pressing his tongue into my mouth. I tremble slightly, unused to this sort of feeling.

“You’re bleeding,” he says with a smirk. “It tastes wonderful.” He starts to dive in again, but I stop him.

“I have to tell you something,” I murmur. “It’s kind of embarrassing, but it may change your mind about things.”

Beleth furrows his brow. “Is it cancer?”

“No! That’s not even funny.” I step away from him. “I’m not sick or anything. I’m just a virgin!”

His brows arch. “Just?” He goes quiet for a long moment. “Well then, I suppose our first time will have to be gentle.”

My head feels like it is engulfed in flames. “What first?”

Beleth steps close to me and presses his lips against my ear. “How about I make you dinner? I have a fresh bottle of wine, some candles, and a great big bed.” He kisses me again.

“Wait.” I push against him. “Are you...” My voice cracks. “Are you asking me out?”

“I don’t want to sweep everything off my desk. Too messy. But I make a pretty damn good mushroom risotto.” He kisses my cheek. “So what do you say?”

“I, uh...” I gulp down the lump in my throat. “I can bring dessert.”

His smile spreads a little more, and he winks at me. “You’re coming. That’s good enough for me.”

“Oh, OK.” I take a couple of steps away from him. “What time?”

“You continue on down this street, and it’s the first house on the right. Little brick number.” Beleth smoothes out his shirt and walks back around behind his desk. “Can’t miss it.”

“Yeah, sure sure,” I chuckle nervously, then quickly clear my throat. “Any time I should show up?”

Beleth sits down and looks over his desktop, straightening up a few things that got toppled in the kerfuffle earlier. “Let’s say six. Risotto takes a while.” He keeps his eyes on his desk.

“I’ve heard that.” I step backwards to the door. “Six?”

“Yes,” he grumbles.

I nod, then quickly make my escape. I rush to my car in a sprint, because I think I hear the goose coming. I don’t quite remember the drive back home. I’m suddenly at my front door, unlocking it. I suppose I’m still a bit bewildered by what’s happened.

A date is such a foreign concept to me. I’ve maybe been on one, possibly two. It’s hard to tell what they were when they began because they ended so quickly. I’m still in a state of disbelief. He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing and all that jazz. I had been ready to fight with him forever.

I stared into my closet, hoping for something suitable to magically appear, but all I find are a mix of black tops, slouchy cardigans, and comfortable leggings. These are barely clothes, let alone a date night outfit. Eventually, I unearth an old dress that’s too short now, but when worn with leggings it looks passable and comfortable. I guess it’ll work, although I really wish I had something a little more mature. I felt like a wardrobe consisting of only shirts and leggings isn’t something a grown woman should have, but oh well.

I leave way too early, so for a while I circle in my car. I go to work to see if there is anything for me to do, but there isn’t. Then I go to the church parking lot to waste time, get scared by the goose, and eventually end up in Beleth’s driveway. His house is cute, a little brick one just like he says. It has patches of ivy growing over it, making part of the house appear to be rising from the foliage around it.

I take a deep breath, telling myself there’s no real reason to be worried. I’ve dealt with Beleth a ton. And sure, these are different circumstances, but I know him. Still, I sit there clutching to the wheel until I finally convince myself to move. I go to his front door and hit the doorbell.

I look around while I wait for the door to open. Ivy covers parts of the porch, so the rear is completely shaded. As I stare into the shadows I see a pair of eyes, then another, and another. Lurching in fear at the possible monster on his porch, I hear a cacophony of squeaky meows. Four black kittens come rushing at me while their mother lingers in the shadows, glaring and ready to strike should her children need her.

The kittens clamor for attention, climbing up my leggings and screaming at me from my feet. I kneel to pet them, rubbing their heads while they continue to squeak. The door opens and the kittens scatter, running back to the security of the porch.

“I see you met the squatters.” Beleth gives an indignant sniff as he looks down at me. “Pesky things have been here for weeks.”

I notice a bowl of water on the porch, as well as an empty one with crumbs scattered around it. “Must be hell.”

Beleth rolls his eyes as he leads me inside. “Come on. You’re just in time.”

He takes me to the kitchen, where the table is set and wine is waiting. As I sit down he pours me a glass of wine. “Something smells good,” I chuckle softly.

He sets the glass down in front of me. “It had better. I’ve been toiling over the stove since I got home.” He touches my hair and brushes it away from my neck. “Cute dress.” He walks back to the stove before I have time to react.

I quickly take a sip of wine. Finding it inoffensive I take a gulp. “I never would have suspected you owned a cat.”

“I do not own that beast!” Beleth scoffs from the stove. “She showed up one day, demanding attention, and before I knew it she was giving birth on my wicker furniture.”

I study him, seeing he’s wearing a black shirt and a pair of tight jeans. “You could have called a shelter.” My eyes linger. Having never seen him in anything but dress slacks, the jeans do something for him that is definitely a blessing.

“I’d sooner call an exorcist than a shelter.” He returns to the table, laying down pretty plates with the risotto neatly plated. “Hold on,” he warns as I pick up my fork. “Atmosphere.” He turns on a speaker, and music drifts out. Dimming the lights, he takes a lighter to the candles and sets them back on the table.

I’ve finished my glass of wine, so he refills it before he starts to eat. “Go on, try it. I want your honest reaction.”

I give him a weary glance before I take a bite. I get a big chunk of mushroom, which has notes of cream and garlic. I look back at him. His eyes are glowing in the dark as he looks at me. His hair is long and white, spilling off his shoulders in a shimmering sheet. He tips wine to his lips, and I realize that I am indeed on a date.

“It’s good.” I finally say after a long moment of silence. “I don’t think I’ve ever have this before. My mom used to make a casserole by putting rice in mushroom soup.”

Beleth scoffs. “Hardly the same.” He sets his wine glass aside and begins to eat.

“So, you don’t like cats?” I guess I’m stuck conversation-wise, and the kittens were really cute. I drink more wine, hoping it’ll settle my nerves.

“Why, do you? Why don’t you take them and get them out of my hair once and for all?”

“I would, but my apartment doesn’t allow pets. I’ve wanted to get a cat for a while, though.” I take a few more bites.

“Then why are we even talking about cats?” A smile curls the corners of his lips. “I thought you were here for me.”

I take another drink of wine. “I am.” My voice cracks. “I just don’t know what to talk about.”

“You never seemed to have any issue before. We used to spar with words all the time. Don’t tell me you’re nervous now?” His smile turns into an amused smirk.

“I mean...” I cover my mouth as I chew. “You do have to admit this is different, especially for us! I never expected us to... well, you know?”

Beleth looks me over. “Yes, I know.” He takes a sip of his wine. “I must admit, there are some nerves for me as well. This is an odd first for me.”

“For you?” I look up at him.

“I never thought of myself as a human-lover. I’ve never appeared to one outside my guise before. I prefer how I look out there to how I look in here.” He presses his hand into his chest. “I would completely understand if you wanted me to keep this appearance up.”

I take in a deep breath as my heart begins to sputter. “Actually, I think that’s what makes me so nervous. You look so handsome, and I look-” I cut myself off, not wanting to say those words. “I know it’s silly.”

“How do you look?” Beleth’s eyes narrow. “Because in my eyes you look quite plump and sweet.”

I nearly choke on my wine, but still set down an empty glass. “Oh, come on.”

“I’m serious.” Under the table, something is crawling up my leg. Looking down, I see his long white tail coiling from my ankle up to my calf. “I’ve imagined you in all sorts of ways, you know?” His voice is a sensual purr.

I hiccup, feeling the effects of the wine now. “Oh, really?” I hold my glass out for more. “Tell me more.”

He pours a glass for me. “I think that’s enough for now. I want you to relax, not get drunk.” He corks the wine.

“Wine only makes me sleepy.” I sip mine again. “But continue what you said before.”

“I’ve said lots to you. Many ideas really, hoping to get you to crack.” He motions his hand towards me. “I want you to say something to me, now.”

“Oh. Hmm...” I think hard for a moment. He’s certainly given me enough ammo to shoot, but my mind is scrambled from nerves and wine. “Well, I could headbutt you for a while.”

Beleth hangs his head. “Mad, my ear, that is awful.”

“I don’t know what to say!” I scoff. “I don’t know what I’m doing, let alone what I really, really want.”

“So tell me what you want,” he teases.

I glare at him. “Really?”

Beleth stands up from the table. His figure has very much changed. His skin is radiant white, and his long tail continues to snake up my leg. His limbs have grown longer and taken on much sharper angles. His shoulder blades cut sharply through his shirt, and his jeans hang limply off his very narrow waist.

I gulp down the lump in my throat as I look at him. “You look like one of those mannequins in the stores that don’t carry my size.”

Beleth smooths his hand down his chest. “That bad?”

I shake my head. “You’re sexier than they are.” I hiccup again, and it’s chased by a burp. “Sorry.”

Beleth takes my hand. His longer fingers wrap around mine, and he leads me away. We go into his bedroom which is mainly a huge, sloppily-made bed. He sets me on top of it, laying me down and kissing me. His fingers snake beneath my dress, pushing it up while he lays on top of me. I feel his kiss, his hands, and the bed starts to suck me in.

It’s only when I wake up that I get smacked with the realization that I fell asleep while making out.

“Oh, fuck me!” I moan as I clap my hands over my face. I sit up in Beleth’s bed. All my clothes are intact, and my shoes are placed neatly by the door. I see a light under the door, and when I peer out Beleth is on the couch, asleep in front of the glowing television.

I step out and move over to him, gently shaking him awake. He rubs his eyes and sighs as he sees me. “Awake now, are you?”

I kiss him softly. “I’m sorry. I ruined it, didn’t I?”

Beleth sighs, pulling me into his lap. “You taught me a lesson.” He gathers my hair in one hand. “I shouldn’t give you wine when I want a full evening of your attention.” He kisses me back, moving his lips down to my neck. He tugs at my dress, pulling the sleeve so my shoulder becomes exposed.

“I really am sorry,” I moan softly. I reach down to take my dress off, but I end up elbowing him, then slapping myself in the face. “Oh, crap!” I hold my eye. “I’m doing it again.”

Beleth chuckles, soon breaking into a full-on laugh. I start giggling too, sputtering as Beleth’s laughter fills the air. We kiss and giggle, falling back onto the sofa. He tugs off my dress for me, pushing up my bra and nuzzling between my breasts.

“That tickles,” I giggle.

“Feels rather nice to me.” He licks my chest, kissing each breast before nuzzling again. “I’ve been aching to do this for ages.”

“Have you?” I close my eyes, taking deep breaths so I don’t feel dizzy. The way his hands move across my skin has me swooning.

“Oh my, someone has a rip in their leggings.” Beleth smirks at me. “Wanna know where?”

I start to question, but then feel his finger poke through right at my crotch, finding my panties soaking wet. A low growl vibrates against my ear.

“Don’t… don’t tease.” I turn my head, stealing a kiss. I hear a rip, and my forehead thwacks against his. “What did you do?”

“I’ll buy you new ones. These were threadbare at the thighs anyway.” He pushes my panties aside, then sucks in a sharp breath. “My, my.”

I pull his head down, burying it in my neck and hair. “Don’t stare.”

“It’s my new best friend. How can I not?” Beleth laughs.

“Don’t call it that!” I kiss him as his fingers slip down, rubbing my mound slowly. His hand trembles a bit as he breathes into my ear.

“It’s OK,” I moan.

“This is special, Mad.” he whispers before kissing my cheek. “Is it really?”

I nod. “I want you to touch me.” I reach down, guiding his fingers. I help him to ease inside, and I bite my lip. His bony fingers feel warm inside me. His trembling stops. He strokes inside me, stoking a fire deep within. I pant breathlessly, closing my eyes to feel every sensation he gives. He pulls his fingers out very slowly, and something else takes their place.

“Mad, look at me.”

I look up at Beleth towering over me on the couch. His long white hair curtains around my face, and I feel like we are the only two creatures in the world. I stroke my hands down his body, feeling his velvety skin and the shape of his bones.

“I think you’re beautiful,” I whisper to him. “Come closer.”

Beleth nervously lowers himself onto me. I press my body against his, clinging tightly to him. He rocks against me, rubbing his shaft along my vulva. The tip drags along my clit, and I let out small, pathetic moans. Sounds rattle in his chest as he moves, becoming more and more desperate.

“Mad,” he rasps. “Mad-”

“It’s OK,” I pant. “It’s OK. I want you.”

It’s a strange sensation as he enters me. The way my body responds is completely new. I wrap around him, feeling each vein and pulse in his body. Although it hurts for a moment, the more he touches me the more I enjoy it. He goes slowly, moving unsurely at first. I breathe deep, taking my time to learn each sensation.

Beleth moans in my ear, and each thrust draws another pleasured sound from him. I cling to him, holding to him tightly as I take more and more of him. His fingers touch me, finding my clit and stroking it softly. It’s almost overwhelming, all these new sensations and now his fingers. My thighs starts to shake, and I can barely breathe.

Beleth’s sounds become more erratic, as do his movements. He seems unfettered, losing control. He rocks harder, shaking me and the couch with him. He lets out a cry, quickly pulling himself away as something hot splashes on my thighs and belly. His fingers continue to move and, then they curl inside me. I cry out, nearly kicking him in the stomach as I’m struck by lightning.

We flop to the floor, landing with dull thuds. For a moment I can't think, let alone take in the world. But eventually, I start to giggle. Beleth joins in as a soft and exhausted laugh escapes his lips. He rolls over, kissing me before stroking my hair from my face.

“Are you OK?” he asks.

“Maybe,” I smile. “What about you?”

He kisses me again. “You’ll never get rid of me now.”

“Maybe I never wanted to.” I gaze into his strange eyes and smile. “Now, help me up. I can’t feel my legs.”
