Practical Defence Against Piracy has been nominated for a Will Eisner award, in the category of "Best Webcomic!"
As a teenager I'd read Wizard magazine (a magazine about comics and the comic industry) (a magazine is like a collection of blog posts that someone would print onto glossy paper and mail out every month) and every year there would be talk about the Eisner awards, and they were the awards, and they meant a lot. Now I am older, and it is only by smashing through the dense foliage of my own blushing visage that I can admit this is my seventh Eisner nomination, and the second for PRACTICAL DEFENCE. The awards continue to mean a lot to me, and I consider it a great honour that this year's judges considered this work worth nominating.
Obviously, if you are able to vote in the awards (you can if you're a comics professional in some capacity, I believe), please do!
Once more, I say a heartfelt thank you to PRACTICAL DEFENCE's Patron Readers. Their support, encouragement, and implicit permission makes it possible to continue this work. I hope some day to be able to sing their praises from a podium on a stage.
For now,
More swordsmanship! More friendship! And more pirate ships!
Chapter Four continues apace next week. See you then!
