Last week, Alexandra was disgusted to find that against the town's best interest — and against the rules; no lights after dark! — Vignelli had been letting the glow of his big ol' party shine out over the water, practically a beacon for unwanted visitors.

A lot of white space this week, which felt right for the scene. Obviously, Vignelli's "ah, yuh," will sound anachronistic and that's the way I like it.
I imagine a copy editor would challenge me on the balloon where a portion of the text is obscured. The idea is that Vignelli's actual words do not matter, like Alexandra is tuning him out as she makes her realization. If I were to revise it, the thing to do would be to add more text in another balloon, even more obscured. I could also gradually "fade out" the text but that would look hokey.
Thank you again to Sarah Airriess for the colour help on that one particular panel!

I have been painting the last few pages of this chapter, and they've been an absolute blast. It's a situation where I designed the pages in thumbs, thinking "I hope this comes together in colour," and it turns out… it's doing exactly that. Phew.
As always,
I remain,
a complete idiot,
