Exciting Things on the Horizon

I really like how this sequence turned out. Sitting at my desk, hunched over the paper, I whisper to myself, "maybe this comic will be all right."

If you click through the images, you should see captions/descriptions beneath them. If not, then uh-oh, this plan didn't work as I anticipated. Of course, I do not intend to present the finished comic in this way. It was just the most straightforward method I had at hand.

Edit: the little "Xs" in the first image are shorthand for "fill this space with black during the colouring process." It is a comic-making tradition as old as time itself.

Ah! I use a different method. I'll make a note to outline it (no pun intended) in the next regular update.

Tony, catching up on the patreon process here. I am loving seeing all the work behind the scenes after I have read the first chapter. Particularly the mix media portion of the inking and how that translates to the final artwork. I do have a question, though it might be answered in subsequent posts. The colouring of the pencil mark making, traditionally a ink layer is set to multiply over digital colours, are you doing any additional work to account for multiply when it comes to the tones you are applying to the texture?

Love the first panel. I thought the black x's were birds :-)
