Timelapse - The Main Top and the Horizon

Want to see some rigging get drawn?

This is an hour's work, sped up to 10 minutes (that's as much as my video editor will let me do). More than anything, I just wanted to test out the process of making timelapse videos.

On DD3, I did pay a handful of very skilled folks to help prepare the pages for colour, but I could only barely afford to do that then and I can’t afford to do it now.

Is there a point in your work where you have other people ink and color? I feel like a lot of GNs that I've read have the ink or coloring done by others.

… As for Twitch, well, I know what's involved in Twitch streaming, and the behind-the-scenes setup is not insignificant. My first priority is to get into a good routine with my workflow. That said, I see the appeal: Mouse Guard's David Peterson does some good streaming, and it seems like fun. I'm a nervous live drawer, and I'm going to have to move some hardware around to film the drawing table, but maybe once I'm on to inking Chapter Two, I'll give it a shot.

I've seen one or two timelapse videos of hers on YouTube, where she speaks overtop of a process video. That type of thing seems like a lot of work, and in those cases I'd always rather write out a blog post (both because that's what I prefer to ingest, as well as being searchable, skimmable, and *hopefully* less ephemeral).

Mind you, Minna does mostly digital. On occasion, she'll do watercolors.

So what's your verdict? Do you like the outcome? I'm watching it now… Seems really solid. One artist you may want to watch/emulate is Minna Sundberg, author of Stand Still Stay Silent. She's surprisingly not on Patreon — she uses a couple of platforms. For her live streams, she uses Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/hummingfluff
