Here's the completed renders for GemElement!
I don't have too much to say about the process it took to make this as it wasn't too difficult. The hardest part was the lighting as I ended up blanking out on how I'm supposed to actually do that for a moment.
Now for an actual update on what I've been doing since I hadn't actually made a post last week. I've been sitting down to relearn Blender fundamentals from scratch, such as how to model and rig objects. The big thing I was messing with was how to use Inverse Kinematics and Spline to create a basic chain. I'm thinking of using that chain I made for a short animation based on a gif Watapono made to try and get back into the swing of things.
For things outside of Blender I've been doing a lot of driving the past week. I ended up visiting my parents a few times, and they live an hour away for reference. Having to drive back and forth at least 4 times this week has been rather exhausting while still going to work on top of that, but I'm glad I did it at the very least. The visits were mostly so we could build a new PC. This was in large part due to how the upgrades from last month weren't very compatible and/or were defective due to being bought used.
Last thing to mention is about the writing I was doing at the start of the month. I ended up not really feeling proud of what I made and just never shared it like I said I would. I do have some regrets on not following through on that, so I'll try to work harder to make up for it since I've been fairly lax.
Because of that I do want to apologize for the lack of consistent updates as of late. Since last month my consistency fell off insanely hard, and even before that I started finishing less and less projects due to trying to work on larger animations I couldn't finish with my current skillset. I do think it's important to keep trying for those larger projects, but it's also important to try and make smaller things in between it all.
