Monthly Update - June 2024

Alright! Monthly update time!

Hope everyone is having a good summer!

My month was off to a solid start. My brother picked up concert tickets to celebrate my birthday a few months back, and surprised me over the weekend by showing up with a couple of our mutual friends, so it was nice to catch up with everyone.

I was looking for a render to use for this post and found all the ones of Ashley posing in the mirror with her costumes she sends to the MC as a bathroom selfie. I obviously didn't use all of them, so why not post 'em here?

So, what did I accomplish over the past month?

Progress with Episode Fifteen of Hypnosis is going well. Last month I posted it was about 40% complete for new content, at this point I'd put it closer to 70%. I'd hoped to finish it by this month, but unfortunately finishing up everything else I mentioned last month also took longer than I'd hoped.

I'm attempting to work on new content alongside fixing up older paths, so it's a balance for sure. I also tried to get ahead of myself a bit with the next Endowed update whenever I get stuck on something for Hypnosis, which is always a nice way to keep myself sane.

As an extra, I also polished up a story I wrote about a year ago. It was mostly finished, but I had inspiration to rewrite a few scenes to pick up the pacing. Once again I used it as inspiration to poke around with trying to learn the graphics program VaM for a few renders as practice for future projects, and was pretty happy with the results. I'll post more about that project soon.

Where are we at for Episode Fifteen? Mostly working on visuals now along with basic polishing. Visuals and rewrites at this stage tend to go hand in hand. For example, I have several different locations to use for the interior of the girl's school, which look fine at a glance. However, as I have a few extended scenes with everyone gathered there, the quality starts to drop pretty quick the longer you spend there, so I end up comparing other locations, then wonder if I should just use the exterior from the last episode and keep everyone outside.

Having all these new maps and objects to use now is both a blessing and a curse. Now I have the luxury of making the visuals match my original plan for a scene, but the downside is I no longer have the excuse of cutting corners.

For example, in Episode Fourteen I was able to add driving scenes with the girls, like the MC talking with Leah and Grace as they drive around. Pretty cool... except for how fucking long they took to make. Much longer than a generic windshield view as they drive. Worth it? Maybe for the novelty of it, or if it serves a purpose for the scene, but otherwise? Probably not.

Looking back at older episodes of Hypnosis, it's crazy to me how often I used shortcuts like that simply because I didn't have any other options. It took a few years to really get comfortable with Honey Select, at which point I discovered I can't put the game on Steam because of it. So it goes, I suppose.

What's the plan for this month?

Mainly I'm focused on Episode Fifteen still, although I'm also working on a quick sneak peak scene with Daphne in comic form I plan to post soon.

I also want to run a few more polls to find out your reactions to Episode Fourteen and what paths you plan to play going forward.

Ideally, this will help me plan out how much effort to put into the different routes.

I also plan to release another story. It's been over a year since the last chapter of The Perfect Girl, so I figure it's time for a new one. I'll release it like I did for that one, with the chapters being posted on here first and I'll offer the option for a download and put it up on other sites after the last chapter. I'll go over it more in another post.
