I'll make this one very fast, because I'm out of a several hours session testing everything, and I'm a bit exhausted as well as in dire need of a shower^^
So, I just concluded testing the entirety of Update 8, including the extra scene. That means I'm very near release, but not quite there yet. I still have to do some freeroams, replace the placeholder animations with the finished ones for the extra scene, which should all be coming tomorrow, as well as some misc stuff here and there like changing a few facial expressions and adding the last scene + all PoVs to the reminiscence room. If I have time, I might add an extra Triple Trident opponent to the one already present in this update, but I'm not promising anything.
So, unless my laptop blows up or the police arrests me for whatever reason, I expect the first release of Update 8 to take place on August 30th, so on Wednesday ; )

Sorry, I was busy all morning with moving my stuff out of my apartment, and I could only start working later during the day. But good news, I'm done with everything, all I need now is create the files, upload them, and write the walkthrough. It'll be up soon, just a bit more patience : )

But the problem it created was that for individual characters, it was more difficult to know what the order of the different scenes is if they are separated across different rooms. I get that it's easier to organize the scenes as a whole that way, but for the overview of individual characters, it creates problems if there are no indicators, that group scene 2 actually belongs between Haylen scene 3 and 4 for example. If you know what I mean

The issue popped up yesterday for the first time during a replay to unlock all of the extra scenes and as soon as I hit Haylen's most recent content it took me about a dozen attempts to get through it. It reached a point where I was saving once every minute or two to try and get past it without freezing. I will genuinely never rewatch the scene where Haylen tit fucks Jazon specifically because of how many times I've seen it trying to get through it. :P

2023-08-28 23:24:09 +0000 UTCThe update itself is most likely not twice the amount of playtime of an usual update, only a bit longer. I couldn't give you a precise estimate, as my playtests last longer than a normal person playing it (because of bug fixes while playing, etc...). I'd say between 1h to 1h30? What took the longest was making all the new maps, because there's quite a lot of them to accomodate each situation. Unfortunately, this only translates into more development time, not playtime^^ As for scenes, including the extra one, there are 5 in total. Less than we might expect, I know, but there are actually two that have dual PoVs(but one is shorter so not divided by PoV in the reminiscence room), so I guess they could be considered as two scenes in one if we're being generous, and besides that the update takes its time with build-up and story elements. There's also one tiny scene not accounted and a bunch of stuff to make the whole camp experience more... fun : )

2023-08-28 23:17:29 +0000 UTCI've been trying to find a fix for that one, as you're not the only one with freeze issues, but no luck, as it seems to be mainly random. I myself have run into freezes, but no more than 3-4 times in my many hours of playtesting. It's mostly when I minimize the window and come back to it after several minutes. As far as I've seen, it might be RPGMaker's fault, or the machine it's being played on. Forum people aren't quite sure, and I'm not well-versed enough into the more technical side of the engine itself to find it myself, unfortunately.

2023-08-28 23:04:32 +0000 UTCIt's indeed for scenes where 2 or more of the main girls are involved together, but mainly for Cyanna and Rose's scenes. If I put Aywin's first BJ there and there was no one else with her, it might have been a mistake on my part. Otherwise, it's easier to organize scenes with that room. If several characters are involved, instead of putting it in all the rooms of each character at once, which can be a problem in itself to implement, they're all organized in the same room.

Usually while we're in the monthly cycle you aim for an hour at the very least but Update 7 was released on the 28th of June meaning that Update 8 has been in the works for just over 2 months, did the Update surpass the 2 hour mark or is it more like an hour and 30 or 40 minutes because of the amount of scenes and all the other smaller stuff like freeroams, cardgame etc. ? Speaking of scenes, how many are there in the final version, if you count that one big scene as one ? The one that you can rewatch in the recollection room separately. (extra scene included)

It's mainly happening with Haylen's last quest line, but I've had one or two elsewhere. Wondering if it's just my version of RPGM or if anyone else is having issues.

2023-08-28 20:18:44 +0000 UTCIs there a reason you decided to create an extra room for several characters? In my understanding this means the scenes with more than one girl. I actually quite disliked that feature in HC2, because it made it a lot harder to watch scenes in order for a specific character, when you always have to switch rooms. For example, the first BJ scene of Aywin in HC2 was only in the room with multiple characters, so I felt like something was missing in her room. Is there any way to tackle that problem?

Be sure to keep that laptop from to much heat and it shouldn't blow up. Can't wait for the update and thank you for all the hard work you did to get this big update out! For this update I will upgrade my plan to 20$ to have it the same wednesday and then maybe I will go back to my normal plan.
