Hello guys and gals! N_taii here with another proof of life post!
Warning: rather long post ahead, prepare the snacks!
TLDR: Development is coming along fine, NTR genre is more popular than we might think.
-- Unfortunately, I do not have much to show you for the time being, as I'm in the middle of a new phase I decided to implement in the game's development: a writing phase.
During the development of the last update, I realized that I really lacked organization and some planning ahead. So I'm currently writing a more organized plan of the next update's layout, writing down each scene, what they'll contain, what characters will be involved, etc.... as well as a plan of each character's location at different stage of the game.
This won't change anything for you guys, the players, but this will allow me to hopefully drastically reduce the time I'm taking during the playtest phase, which is honestly the least interesting part of the game development process.
As for this post's image, I found it rather interesting considering the nature of the game I'm developing.
This pic is from Fanza, fromerly DMM.R18, a Japanese site where you can buy eroge, hentai, JAV's, and other. It is in Japanese so I'll translate the most important part for you guys.
It shows a chart of the most bought games by genre divided into men and women categories. Interestingly enough, the most bought games for both women and men are from the NTR (Netorare/Netori) genre.
Some people tend to think that the NTR genre for games is a rather small niche, and due to the anti-NTR people usually being more vocal than the pro-NTR ones, a lot of people just go along with this idea. This chart shows NTR is actually pretty popular.
Now, I know the Japanese market is different than the Western market for H-games, but I still wanted to show this chart and make this point : )
That's all folks! Thank you for reading.
