But, in private it's Akera who has his closest confidence and heart. The two have actually been together since Take was a teenager when his father 'acquired' the services of Akema and Akera from their parents due to a debt they owed the family. The twins were trained to be Takemitsu's bodyguards, but something more grow out of their relationship that they've kept a secret ever sense.
In a world of cold fanged business it's nice for Takemitsu to know he can occasionally let his hair down.

First off I most heartily agree, and have used the phrase myself of them NOT being "Just humans in a Fur Suit" so yes thank you there...However without trying to DECONSTRUCT them too much and OVER think...you never have explained HOW the "makers" developed the Humanimals.... *IF* (as I suspect) they crossed Human DNA... with animal DNA (which is reasonable as they walk upright, and speak and might be cross fertile etc) then it is reasonable that they SHARE at least SOME traits with Humans (which would be your Provence to say which traits) on the OTHER paw/hoof/talon, if they were pure genetic manipulation..maybe not so much so... But as you acknowledge Taboo, or Exotic COULD arouse a Humanimal (and Vice Versa) I THAT goes with Sentience.... That said MY question is..if someone (Humanial of a different species or Human) Learned the visual clues..and got the right gramophones (something done when breeding horses) COULD they more or less "DRUG" the other species into being aroused..I would imagine that would be viewed similar to a "Date rape" drug.

They have literally been together in some capacity since they were children and a relationship dynamic of master and servant, which each enjoy their particular roles. Yes, a humanimal could indeed become sexually attracted to a Maker/human, but not for the same reasons necessarily that humans would be attracted to one another or how humanimals would be attracted to one another. The attraction could be triggered by something as simple as it being taboo, or exotic.

You have to not think of humaimals as humans with fur, but as something actually alien to human typical way of thinking about social things.
