Scarlet Ann Starfox is the middle child of
Travis and Victoria Starfox . As a child she hero worshiped her older brother Travas, who was a promising young starship pilot in training. Scarlet dreamed of growing up to be like her brother and fly starships as well and he would encourage those dreams by frequently taking her to the various ship hangers so that she could look at all the ships and see how they were prepped. It was during one of these visits when Travas and Scarlet would accidentally walk into a gang of Felins who were stealing ship parts. An altercation would take place, which resulted in Travas being killed right before Scarlet’s eyes. Fearing a witness, one of the Felins would pursue her, but thanks to her small size, she managed to take shelter in a small air vent, just out of the reach of her would be attacker.
This traumatic event would serve to change Scarlet’s life, and personality. No more was she as bubblely and outward going to others. She would become more introverted, private, and yet even more determined than ever to reach her dream of becoming a pilot to honor her brother, who’s dream was taken from him. This determination would serve to make her very competitive in school and in athletic events, propelling her to the top of her class. When she finally would make the flight academy of the Alopex Station’s Vulpin Station University her goal of becoming the top pilot cadet was almost in reach. Socially Scarlet was often avoided, due to her hardened exterior and competitive nature, which often intimidated most. Usually she just hung out with her younger sister Erica and her then pre-mate Sly. One day, however, her top spot was finally challenged by a young male named Reford, who was also trying to become the top pilot in their class. At first this started a rivalry between the two, as they both attempted to best each other in their respective classes. I wasn’t until Erica and Sly convinced Scarlet and Red to go on a blind double date with them, where the two rivals would soon grow the seeds of a deep romance, which was solidified one day, when for a class they were paired together for a flight exam where each would take turns as head pilot and as the second. In the end Red would prove to be the better flier than Scarlet, but at that point she no longer cared, for, if she was going to be beaten it might as well be to the male she had truly fallen in love with.
For months Scarlet and Red would grow their relationship until one fateful night, they would decide to take their relationship one stop further, and consummate their relationship in Red’s newly built ship, the Solarfox. It was during the act of passion that both Scarlet and Red’s powers would be activated, which would lead to some very embarrassing and comical damages to Red’s ship.
Because of the trauma induced by the death of her brother, something she never really ever spoke to anyone about, Scarlet has developed a very strong attachment to those she loves. She gets great anxiety when separated from family members and loved ones for long periods of time. She is also incredibly protective of those she is close to, to the point that she would often get into fights as a child when someone picked on her little sister. During these periods of separation Scarlet can become very detached and short of patience, which may cause her to slap or lash out at people. This is something she’s becoming more aware of and is trying to alter, but it’s not easy for her. To soothe these periods she often has or carries around some small memento of her loved one. In particular she has a plus toy that resembles Red, which is made from some of his shed fur. The scent and texture of the fur can act as a sort of security blanket that reduces her separation anxiety. (She would of course deny the existence of such a thing if confronted with it).
One of Scarlet’s secret guilty pleasures is singing. She is actually quite good at it for someone untrained. She finds singing to be a relaxing activity and one that frees her mind. She will often do this by flying high enough in the air so that others can’t hear her.
Power wise, the vast majority of Scarlet’s powers are kinetic energy based. Scarlet’s body rapidly stores and exerts Kinetic energy. It’s this input/output that gives her her incredible strength. The more effort she exerts the more energy she absorbs and redirects back into muscle output giving her an almost limitless potential for strength, which is often determined upon her own willingness and effort to push herself. As her body gives off kinetic energy, it creates a sort of field that extends beyond her body. This is her “aura shield”, which gives her a form of invulnerability. As a force is enacted upon her, her body immediately creates a counter force that pushes it away. This is involuntary. While she can intentionally focus her shield often it works on pure reflex. It is not 100% impenetrable, however. Liquids can make it past her shield. Impacts the shield may still have an impact on her body. A large enough impact can create a reverberation that could render her unconscious or even break a bone.
Because of her exposure to artificial gravity from living on a space station for the majority of her life, her bone density is slightly more dense due to how her kinetic absorption abilities work making her naturally tougher. With manipulation of the kinetic fields that are naturally occurring on her body, she can alter and bend them. This allows her to warp her immediate gravity field and grants her the ability of flight.
Scarlet’s body also produces a natural fire resistant oil on her fur making it unburnable (lucky for her, otherwise that first time would have been very hard to explain to mom and dad why all the fur on her back was burnt off).
