Remalons have been genetically engineered to be like Monotremes. While they do have reptilian like exteriors with thick hids, and scale like skin, they lay eggs and the females produce milk.
Nightcreepers (blue skinned Remalons) possess the ability of teleportation and survive on diets that mostly consists of vegetation and fish. They build their homes in the hollow globes of Pod Trees and live simple tribal like lives, which have a social order of Gatherers, Hunters, Warriors, and Ruling class. Usually Nightcreepers bodies consists of blue skin, black mask like facial marking, and dark blue hair, but sometimes there can be a mutation in the pigment of a Nightcreepers hair where they will develop silver manes, which are noticeable immediately at birth/hatching. These mutations are usually considered a sign of good fortune and can often gain the individual an elevated sense of importance in their particular tribe. This mutation can be passed on to an offspring, though it often may skip a generation or two making it more rare than common.
Nightcreepers are mostly nocturnal and have eyes that have adapted to easily functioning in the dark. They can be active during the day, but their vision tends to be slightly impaired due to the sensitivity of their pupils. Nightcreepers (as well as other Remalons) can communicate verbally or through vocalizations that range from high pitched screeches to low frequency roars that can be heard for great distances.) Varying the pitch of these emissions can create an echo location effect, which pounces sounds off of objects and returns to their melon in their foreheads. This increases their mobility in the dark and helps them find pray. Their ears are incredibly sensitive to sound , which aids them in their nightly hunts, but can also be a disadvantage as extreme sudden loud sounds can disorientate them. Female, however, can use this to their advantage, having high pitched wails that they can use at such a high and focused level, they could easily shatter glass. These calls can also be used to find and impress potential mates.
A Nightcreeper's tail is a prehensile natural weapon. The arrow like tail tip consists of very dense and resistant skin allowing it to take a lot of damage without showing immediate signs of skin breakage or bruising, and is thick enough to inflict wounds into the flesh of other creatures. They will often use their tails as a fishing aid, allowing pray to nibble or latch onto their tail tips and then using it's hook like end to pull it out of it's hiding place or the water. The tail tip also has the least amount of nerve endings in it than any other portion of the tail, so any damage done to it results in minimum pain to its owner. Where as the tail's under base has the most cluster of nerves in it.
Nightcreepers are mainly monogamous, finding a mate, pairing, and raising offspring for life, though, it is not unheard off that you might find a male or female who will mate with multiple partners for a variety of reasons. Though, due to the harsh environment of Eden, it's more advantageous for a pair who have produced offspring to stay together to raise their offspring than for one to attempt to raise a child on their own. The value of producing offspring is very high in Remalon society due to the population of all racial tribes are so low, again, due to the harshness of the environment and the low birth rates (many eggs do not see hatching due to a variety of cause, from natural predators, still-birth, or enemy attacks). Larger tribes equal the ability to gain more favorable territory, so obviously offspring production is highly encourage and seen as a plus. This, however, makes same sex couplings rare and not as encouraged, since the lack of a chance of producing offspring is seen as a biological net loss. While, such a pairing wouldn't result in any type of violent reaction, the roles of the individuals in the tribe would high differ, usually putting such individuals in the warrior class (if you're not going to help the tribe by producing more offspring, you can help by defending the tribe's territory) would be the line of thinking of the tribe leader.
