Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 20 Reaction

Comments

Just saw your comment T.T Yeah it was truly a pleasure to watch this episode. Especially as you said such amazing voice acting. Somebody was commenting how crazy was when the manga chapter came out. I would've been jealous in many anime but experiencing AoT in the anime first it's an amazing experience. Hahahaha yeah I cut that part in YT because I realized that, I went to search for the chapter in spanish and it was different. Pretty odd they left it like that. Oh well the perks of Patreon, you guys see all the mistakes and embarrassment 🤣 Some dialogues were left out? Can't wait to be able to read. I usually leave it until the season is done because they add details in different order sometimes. It makes sense, really looking forward to see a bit more about the paths but from the new ep I'm guessing many things are left for speculation. Can't believe only a few eps to go T.T

This episode was truly one of my most anticipated moments to see. Not only does it change the course of the story, it changes the very beginning of the story, and we can never look at it the same way again when rewatching. One of the best episodes, one of the favorites no doubt. This season is ruthless. I found funny the couple of instances of "creative censorship" after everything they showed last week. This episode must have been a relief for MAPPA, they could get away with not animating a lot of the conversations as we focused on other things. I got the moments I was excited to see, there are a lot of details and characters moments that define our characters. The acting by everyone was exceptional as usual, and as expected Hiroshi Tsuchida, Grisha's voice actor, performed the hell out of his role, the MVP once again and he deserves all the awards. That scene....the twist was harrowing, and then Grisha's breakdown and apology to an emotional Zeke was heartbreaking, making them tragic characters, and with that haunting OST that might be the best one yet, at least my favorite now. Urania, the chapter and scene you are referring to, 87, after the basement and when Eren and Mikasa are in the stockade prison for insubordination and Armin hears a woman's voice, it is actually an inaccurate translation of the original. https://i.imgur.com/0vN2uPv.png https://i.imgur.com/JnqTuIS.png There are several translations as it came out in Japan. The Korean version was almost always first, then they translated that into English, then others made better English translations, then the official English translation would come out. As you could guess, it made for hilarious translations sometimes that turned into memes, especially towards the end. But this instance, it was weird that the official translation did it that way. Armin does not say that he heard a woman's voice. When Eren wakes up, he says "Koko wa...watashi...naze" What/where is here? I...why? Then Armin says "Just now, did you say "watashi" about yourself? Usually, any young guy and Eren would say "boku" or "ore" when saying "I" and more formal, educated people (men too) and women would say "watashi" a more polite way of saying "I" Since he was connected to his father, Eren used the term his dad used, watashi. L from Death Note also uses watashi, and so on. Armin was just confused Eren used watashi. There is still plenty of PATHS shenanigans. Mikasa does ask if Eren was crying, like she did in the first chapter. The very first scene was adapted a little different in the anime, but since all Eldians are connected, it's not surprising that Eren had visions even if he didn't have the power. Reading the first scene again for the details it's interesting he talks about Mikasa's hair. Now Falco probably maybe dreamt of freckled Ymir in training in the first episode of the final season. Although practically time travel, technically it isn't since what Eren did in the cavern was interact with the memories of his father, and at the same time Grisha interacted with the memories of future Eren, hence the title. CRAZY.
