Jack was continually learning about his new body and finding out the things he could do with it. With some concentration, he could change his shape, but it took a lot of effort, and it sometimes hurt him. He could climb the walls and ceiling, which he enjoyed. Mainly because he liked teasing you with it. He also had enhanced strength and speed as all as a boost to all his senses.
“You could be a superhero if you wanted,” you tell him.
He scoffs and looks at his palms. “I don’t look like one.”
“And?” You take his hand into yours, squeezing it tight. “It’s better than being a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
He looks at you, his expression is sad and timid. You lean in, giving him a soft kiss and touching his cheek. “I like you.”
He chuckles and squeezes your hand. “I don’t know why.”
“Hey,” you butt your forehead to his. “Don’t talk like that or I’ll have to teach you a lesson. Inside and out, I like you.”
He wraps his arms around you and rests his forehead on your shoulder. You that he’s afraid of himself more than anyone out there could be frightened of him. You hold him fast and kiss the top of his head.
“You’re beautiful to me,” you whisper. “And I am grateful to have you because I know what it’s like to lose you.”
He sits up and looks at you, his strange eyes staring deep into yours. “I know.” He kisses you and sighs. “You’re still more beautiful than I am.”
You smile. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
He then scoffs. “Oh my god, be more cliche why don’t you?”
You giggle and kiss his cheek. “What else am I suppose to say?”
“Anything but that!” he sticks his long tongue out. “Please, say something that will make me forget how cliche you are.”
You smirk and lean in, pressing your lips to where his ear is. “You have the best cock in the entire galaxy.”
His body seizes up, and he holds his breath.
“You also have the most talented tongue too,” you purr. “I love feeling your weight pressed on top of me as your fingers tease me.” You then moan into his ear, and he lets out a shuddered gasp. “Your sharp teeth dragging down my skin makes me happy to be alive.” You place your palm on his chest. “You’re so gentle with me even when I want you to ravage me like a beast.”
He grabs you by the shoulders and shoves you back, holding you at arm's length. “Whu-what-” he clears his throat and swallows. “What were we talking about?”
You smirk and chuckle. “Oh, nothing.”
He looks up at you, his eyes flickering between your face and your body. “We should head home.”
“If you say so, but I was enjoying our night out.” You kiss him before he sets you on his back. He then leaps over the railing, falling several feet before he clings onto the side of the building. You hate it when he does that but you know he would never let anything hurt you. You also know he gets a kick out of it and loves showing off.
He reaches back and pats your hip. “You ok?”
“Yeah,” you keep your head down and your forehead pressed against his back. You don’t want to look down.
He lets go, falling again before latching onto the side of the building. You grunt, clinging to him and squeezing tight to him. He then swings to the adjoining building, climbing up it to its rooftop and rushing across it, flinging himself onto the next building. He does this until you reach home where he crawls through the window.
You get on your feet and sigh. “I’ll never get used to that.”
He comes up behind you and kisses the nape of your neck. Your bite your lip as you feel his teeth on your skin.
“Jack,” you moan.
“Best cock in the galaxy,” he whispers into your ear.
You snort and grasp his hand as it sneaks under your shirt. “Well, yes, that is true.”
He growls in your ear then stops suddenly. He freezes up, and he grips you closer to his chest. A low snarl rumbles in his throat, and you turn to look at him.
“Jack?” You whisper.
He wraps his hand around your mouth and keeps you still. After several long moments, he lets you go.
“Jack,” you turn around and touch his face as he slouches. “Jack, what was that?”
He growls. “I felt something,” he whispers. “I felt...someone.” He looks up at you. “They know I’m here.”
You furrow your brow. “Who?”
He shakes his head. “I don’t know I…” He places his hand over his chest. “The creature, they know and they’re afraid.”
You take hold of his hand in both of yours. “It’s ok. I’m here, I’ll protect you.”
“No.” He brushes your hair from your face. “I’m afraid you can’t.”
“But I’ll try,” you insist. “I love you, I’ll do anything to help you.”
He kisses you. “I love you too.”
You keep his hand on your cheek and smile. “Let's go finish those leftovers,” you say.
“I thought you wanted to save them for tomorrow?” He asks, tilting his head.
You shake your head. “I’m hungry. We can go eat them now.” You lead him to the kitchen where you dig into the takeout leftovers. He’s quiet the rest of the evening, and he doesn’t wander too far from your side. In bed that night, he clings to you and rests his head on your chest.
The next day, as you’re making coffee, there is a knock at the door. Jack growls low, and you watch him for a moment. There is a knock again, and Jack hisses when you go to answer it.
“What?” You ask.
“It’s out there,” he snarls.
“Stand back, let me see.” You move past him and take a lot through the peephole. You see a man standing there, someone you know, but he looks faintly different. “It’s Dr. Harlan.”
Jack flinches. Dr. Harlan was the one who owned the lab he had worked in. The man was like a father to him and had taken him under his wing. When the lab exploded, Dr. Harlan had been out of the country for a conference.
“Why is he here?” Jack snarls.
“Let me open the door and find out.” You open the door a crack, and the two of you look at one another. His expression is sad and distant.
“It’s been a while,” he says.
“Since the funeral,” you reply.
“Can I come in?” He asks. “I have something important I need to ask of you.”
You glance back, seeing Jack has gone, so you open the door further and invite Dr. Harlan inside. He’s carrying a heavy duffle bag, and he looks exhausted and ragged. Yet, you can’t help but notice he looks much better than he did the last time you saw him. He looks like a younger version of himself.
“Can I get you some coffee?” You ask.
He shakes his head and sets the duffle bag down. “No, thank you,” he wipes his hair away from his sweaty forehead.
“Why are you here?” You ask. “Is something wrong?”
He smiles at you. “Jack only spoke of how amazing you were,” he says. “Jack was important to me, he meant the world to me.”
You nod. “I know.”
He sighs. “I have nowhere else to go. No one I can trust. If Jack were here I would-” he sighs and shuts his eyes. “I am so sorry.”
“Harlan,” you reach out to him, but he steps back.
“I need your help, and it’s very urgent.” He moves to the duffle bag and opens it up. Inside is a clear canister with something moving inside. The top and bottom of the canister looks like heavy weights and locks. The thing inside moves slowly, twisting and turning like silly putty in zero gravity.
You furrow your brow. “What is that?”
“I need you to keep this for me, for the time being.”
You reach out to take it, but then you hear a low growl. You look up, seeing Jack hanging from the ceiling.
“Oh my god,” Harlan gasps.
Jack falls down before you, landing between the two of you. “Who are you?” Jack snarls at Harlan.
Harlan takes a step back, gazing up at Jack with fear. “Not another one,” he whispers. “Please, don’t hurt the girl!”
“Jack! Stop!” You push him back, standing between him and Harlan. “What are you doing?”
“Jack?” Harlan gasps. “Jack is that you?”
“Get that thing out of here!” Jack roars.
You shove against Jack’s chest, but he still bears down in Harlan’s face. “You look like him and you sound like him, but there is something inside you that isn’t him!”
“You’re right,” Harlan whispers. “Oh Jack,” he shakes his head. “I’m not here to hurt anybody. I’m here trying to save people.” He holds up the canister. “This is the third creature we harvested from the asteroid. I took it from the government lab so Solomon couldn’t take it.”
“Solomon?” Jack hisses. “Dr. Solomon? You told me he died!”
“I thought he did,” Harlan lowers the canister. “But he’s still alive, and he’s looking for this and for you.” He explains that Dr. Solomon he knew had actually been bonded to the thing in the asteroid. He had changed and become the man known as Solomon Savage, a celebrity journalist. He was also the villain known as Rabid.
“He wanted me to create a copy of one of the asteroid creatures,” Harlan sighs. “So he could give it to his girlfriend so she could be like him. I managed to convince him the one in my lab was destroyed, well, I assumed it had been.” He looks up at Jack. “I also got him to hold off on stealing this one.”
“Then, what’s inside you?” Jack asks.
Harlan places his hand over his chest. “I did manage to create another one, but it isn’t like Rabid.” He holds his hand out, and something starts to drip down from his fingertips. It slides off his hand and onto the ground then rises and takes on a human shape.
“This is Timid,” Harlan explains.
The creature moves behind Harlan and clings to him. “I created Timid with my research and some of Solomon and Rabid’s blood. The two of us are bonded.”
“How did you hide that from Solomon then?” Jack asks.
“I played dead,” Timid replies. “He can’t sense me.”
“Then why did you bring that one here?” Jack growls and points to the canister. “Why bring it to her?”
Harlan sighs. “She’s the only one I felt I could trust.”
“Well, get it away from us. I don’t want her getting hurt. It’s bad enough she has to live with me like this, I don’t want her living in fear of someone else!” Jack snarls at him.
“Jack,” you turn to him. “I think we should do it.”
He turns and glares at you. “Did you not just hear him?”
You take the canister and hold it in your lap. “Who better than us to guard it?” You ask.
“You say us like you have a fighting chance against Rabid!” Jack hisses. “You’ve seen what he can do! I am not putting a target on your back for him!”
You frown. “I could host it.”
“No!” Jack grabs the canister from you. “I will not subject you that!”
Harlan stands up. “Jack, I’m sorry. Give it back to me.”
Jack glares down at him. “You were my hero,” he shoves the canister back at him. “You’ve disappointed me.”
Harlan places the canister back in the bag. Timid then steps towards you and holds your hand.
“That was very brave,” they whisper.
You smile at them. “I would have done it too.”
“I’m not giving you that option,” Jack growls.
Harlan stands up, and Timid goes back to his side. “I’m sorry about this,” he looks up at Jack. “I’m sorry for what happened to you. But...I am glad you’re still alive, Jack.”
“Wait,” you stop them before they leave. “Do you have anywhere to go?”
He chuckles. “I’m afraid for the time being we’re on the run.” He hefts up the bag. “While we have this we don’t really have a choice.”
You turn and look at Jack then back to Harlan. “If you ever need anything,” you whisper.
He nods. “Thank you.”
You close the door as they leave and you glare back at Jack. “We could have helped them!”
“I wasn’t going to allow you to get hurt during the process! It’s bad enough you have to keep me!” He turns away and smashes his fists into the wall.
“You’re not a burden, Jack!” You snap at him.
“Aren’t I?” He roars at you. “Look at me! And now Rabid is out there looking for me?” He shakes his head. “I should leave with Harlan.”
“Don’t!” You grab hold of his hand. “If you leave then I’ll go with you! I am not losing you again Jack, do you hear me? Never again!”
His eyes soften, and he touches your cheek. “Don’t cry,” he whispers. Your tears are flowing freely now. “Please, I’m sorry.”
“You’re not a burden to me! I’m not afraid!” You wrap your arms around him and hold him tight. “That’s why I offered. I wasn’t afraid to do it as long as you were with me.”
He strokes your hair and sighs. “Really?”
You nod and look up at him. “Just like when you jump off the buildings,” you say. “Yes, it is scary, but I know I am safe, so I’m not afraid.” You retake hold of his hands. “I’ll stand by your side no matter what.”
He smiles and dips down, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. “I’m sorry I got angry like that.”
“It’s ok,” you pet his cheek. “You were scared.”
He kisses you again, moaning softly as his hands roam your body. You lean into his touch, meeting his kisses eagerly. You stroke your hands down his chest and you can feel his heart hammering.
“Jack,” you moan.
“I need you now,” he growls, picking you up and pressing you against the wall. He rips away your pants and underwear, tossing the scraps of fabric aside.
“He-hey! I liked those,” you whimper before he plunges into a deep kiss. You cling to him and wrap your arms around him. You feel him rub against you, grunting as he does. He eases into you, opening you and stretching you. You bite your lip and grunt as he pushes deeper and deeper. You gasp as he stills and you look into eyes.
“Jack,” you mewl.
He steadies his breath and touches your face. “Nothing but me will ever touch you,” he growls. He arches his hips and starts moving. You grip onto his back and cry against his shoulder. He feels so good, and he goes so deep. You close your eyes and feel his body all around you.
He snarls, and his thighs tremble. He moves you down onto the ground with your back on the floor. He pushes deeper and harder, making you shiver as you feel your core begin to surge. You cry out, clawing at his back. He grunts and roars, throbbing deep inside you and releasing a torrent. It fills you and dribbles out on the floor.
You pant and sigh, feeling his kisses peppered all over your face and neck. You touch his cheek and gaze into his eyes before he lays his head on your chest. “If Rabid finds me,” he whispers with a low voice. “Will you stay with me then?”
“I’ll run with you,” you answer him. “I’ll take you by the hand and lead you myself if I have to. Rabid will not touch you.” You kiss the top of his head. “I will be the only one who touches you.”
He chuckles and picks you up, carrying you to the bathroom where he starts a hot tub. He kisses your palms and holds them to his cheeks before he rests his head in your lap.
“Are you scared?” You ask.
“Yeah,” he huffs. He then eases into the water with you once the tub is full. You rest your head against his chest and pet his thighs.
“I’m scared too,” you whisper. “But like I said, I’m not afraid either.”
He wraps his arm around your shoulders. “I wish I hadn’t gotten mad at Harlan.”
“He knows,” you pat his arm. “We’ll see him again.”
He grunts and rests his chin on top of your head. “You really would have let that thing bond with you too?”
“Yeah,” you look up at him. “I really would have.”
He pouts.
“What?” You giggle. “Are you jealous?”
He grunts. “I know it’s selfish. But I wouldn’t want to share you with it.” He holds your cheek in his palm. “I want to be the only one to bond with you.”
You grin at him and kiss him. “That’s ok. You can be a little selfish with me.” You nuzzle to his cheek. “But if push comes to shove; I would do anything to protect you, including bonding with the other creature.”
“I know you would,” he whispers. “That’s why I love you much.” He pets your back. “That’s also why you’re my hero.”
“I love you.” You smile and kiss the top of his head. “You’re my hero too.”
