And the guards have 100 % the responsibility to subdue anyone, including guests who are visiting the inmates, who fall out of line. Are ass beating happening every visit, or over the smallest contrivance like with jolyne in the study? No. But the system and regulations are setup to allow escalating levels of brutality from guards to keep order and it DOES happen often The prison-industrial complex is insane and inhumane here in the US, I don't blame anyone for finding it hard to believe
